Our advice and expert opinions
Foundation is the essential step in perfect make-up. Finding the right foundation can be complex, but mastering the art of foundation application is equally important. It's not so simple to know how to apply it for a discreet, successful result. You need to know a little about this vanity essential.
Contrary to what you might think, foundation is in no way intended to give the face a "bronzed skin" effect. Its role is to unify without necessarily "coloring" the skin. This is the job of powders and blushes, which are applied over a flawless complexion.
How do you apply foundation properly to avoid a plaster effect on the face and achieve a radiant complexion?
- Remember to properly moisturize your skin before applying make-up. Your moisturizer provides an excellent base for your make-up, making it easy to apply for a perfectly even result.
- Don't forget your upper neck (jawline) and ears when applying your foundation. In fact, remember to spread your product as far as these areas close to the face, to achieve an even effect and avoid demarcation.
- Another tip: once you've spread your foundation, whichever method you choose, fix it in place by applying light pressure to the face with your hands, whose warmth evens out the complexion.
