The cervical collar is a medical device, also called a neck brace in some cases. It ensures immobilization of cervical vertebrae more or less strongly while being arranged around the neck . It helps to calm the symptoms and ultimately treat the cause of neck pain .
There are several sizes of cervical collars depending on the morphology of the victim. There are, on average, four necklace heights (no neck, short, medium or long neck). The collars can be tightened more or less, allowing to adapt more precisely around the neck and some rigid models are adjustable in height.
