What is Urgo Durillon 5 Bandages used for?
A callus is a thickening of the skin's superficial layer, theepidermis. In most cases, the callus is located on the sole of the foot, sometimes on the palm of the hand. A benign condition, a callus can nevertheless cause real discomfort when walking, and can even become infected and require surgery.
Urgo Durillon 5 Pansements is used to treat calluses, or thickened skin under the arch of the foot caused by repeated rubbing and painful pressure. Urgo Durillon 5 Pansements soothes pain as soon as it is applied, by removing areas of pressure. It then gently softens and eliminates the callus, thanks to the emollient effect of glycerine's moisturizing action, combined with the action of the hydrocolloid mass.
The main cause of corns and calluses is repeated rubbing of the skin on the shoe, but deformities of the foot can also lead to the appearance of corns. In fact, an unbalanced foot or an angular forefoot leads to friction that encourages corns.
Friction and/or excessive pressure on the bones of the foot thicken the corns by stimulating the production of the epidermis' main protein, keratin.
In addition to the pain andthickening of the skin caused by corns and calluses, they can also lead to claudication, load-shifting responsible for bone and joint disorders, and suppuration linked to infection of the bursa located under the corns or under the area of friction.
Urgo Durillon dressings are specially designed to relieve pain and help eliminate calluses on the feet. They feature advanced technology that effectively relieves pressure on the callus, reducing discomfort when walking. Thanks to their adapted shape and optimal adhesiveness, they stay in place throughout the day, ensuring continuous, effective treatment.
By using Urgo Durillon dressings regularly, you can see a significant improvement in comfort and a visible reduction in the size of the callus. Their combined action gradually softens the thickened skin, facilitating its natural removal. What's more, these dressings act as a protective barrier against rubbing and excessive pressure, helping the callus to heal without causing further damage to the surrounding skin.
Applying Urgo Callus Dressings is quick and easy. Simply clean and dry the affected area thoroughly before placing the dressing over the callus. Make sure the skin is free of cream or oil to ensure optimum adhesion. Reapply the dressing as often as necessary, making sure to change regularly to maintain optimal hygiene and promote effective treatment.
