How to Use These Sterile Adhesive Sutures?

Urgostrips Sterile Adhesive Sutures are essential products for the precise and secure closure of superficial wounds. Their ease of use, durability, and ability to promote aesthetically pleasing healing make them an optimal choice for healthcare professionals and individuals concerned about their well-being.

After the bleeding has stopped and the wound has been cleaned:

  1. Place 2 strips on either side of the wound and parallel to it.
  2. Place a third strip perpendicular to the wound: first ensure it adheres to one edge of the wound; then gently pull to bring the other edge closer; apply the strip to that edge.
  3. Apply additional strips in the same manner to completely cover the wound.
  4. Reinforce the dressing by applying strips across the wound.
  5. It is recommended to then cover the entire area with a protective dressing.

Expert Tips and Advice

Wound-healing strips are a convenient solution for closing small, superficial wounds without stitches. They hold the edges together, promoting rapid and aesthetically pleasing healing. Before application, it is essential to clean the wound, then disinfect the skin with a mild antiseptic and dry it thoroughly. The strips should be applied perpendicular to the wound, without excessive tension, to ensure even closure.

Our pharmacists recommend leaving the strips in place for several days, without getting them wet or pulling on them: they will peel off on their own. Sun protection is essential during the healing process to prevent scarring. If the skin feels tight, using a healing cream (containing Centella Asiatica, Madecassoside, or hyaluronic acid) helps moisturize and soothe the skin.
