Multi-purpose elastic cohesive bandage for horses from the Farnam laboratory. Available to order from our online pharmacy, in black or blue and in various sizes: 10 cm or 7.5 cm or 5 cm wide x 4.5 meters long. These elastic bands have multiple uses, from wound dressing and protection to working bandages and tail bandages for your horse.

What is Flex'on Horses Cohesive Bandage used for?

Putting a good bandage on a horse's limb isn't as easy as it sounds. As anyone who has ever applied a resting bandage knows, all it takes is one movement on the part of the horse for the bandage to end up unrolled on the ground. Cohesive bandages have the enormous advantage of being self-gripping, i.e. they hold onto themselves without being sticky. The bandage won't unroll even if you let go of the strip halfway through.

The bandage doesn't stick to the horse's skin, straw or shavings, and it holds very well. What's more, it's stretchy, which means it provides good support without being too tight. Last but not least, it's easy to cut by hand, making it an ultra-practical bandaging tool. These bands are breathable and water-repellent, without being waterproof.

Flex'on offers all the benefits of a support and compression bandage:

  • Cohesive: adheres to itself, without sticking to skin or hair.
  • Resistant: to create solid dressings that the animal cannot remove.
  • Elastic: it adapts perfectly to the morphology of the bandaged area, applying even, uniform tension. It does not relax.
  • Hydrophobic, breathable and hypoallergenic
  • Easy to apply, easy to tear by hand.

Flex'on is a cohesive, non-adhesive elastic bandage for horses, to be used :

  1. for support (surgical dressings),
  2. for contention (traumatology dressings),
  3. as a working bandage (use with great care!),
  4. as a tail bandage (for gynecological examinations, mating, foaling).

Flex'on bandages are economical and offer good value for money.

One of the most striking features of this bandage is its automatic adhesion. It adheres to itself without the need for clips, clamps or glue. This makes it very easy to use, as it can be quickly applied and removed without any sticky residue.

Flex-on Horses Cohesive Bandage offers controlled elasticity to maintain optimum compression without being too tight. It adapts perfectly to the contours of the horse's body without impeding mobility, making it ideal for a variety of applications.

Whether for outdoor or indoor use, this band is water-resistant, which means it retains its grip even when in contact with moisture or perspiration.

Flex-on Horses Cohesive Tape is available in a range of attractive colors. This not only satisfies aesthetic preferences, but also makes it possible to differentiate the strips when using them on several horses.

Fagron veterinary laboratory also offers pure chondroitin sulfate at the best price in our online pharmacy.

How to use these cohesive strips?

  • Apply Flex'on cohesive bandage with approximately 50% stretch: do not apply it with too much tension to avoid compression and impede blood circulation.
To fasten the bandage, apply the last 15 cm without stretching, and press firmly to ensure good cohesion.
  • The Flex'on bandage should be removed and changed every day. Flex'on bandage should be removed and changed daily. Do not apply to open wounds.
  • Always apply a layer of fleece underneath, whether or not there is a wound.
  • Hold the cotton with a crepe bandage to homogenize the horse's dressing.
  • Apply the cohesive bandage from top to bottom, starting on the cotton with a full turn at the top, then gradually working your way down, covering half the width of the previous turn (like a resting bandage). Maintain even tension.
Practice bandaging during Equine Class courses presented by a veterinarian
    Important:
  • Always place the bandage over the cotton, leaving it sticking out at the top and bottom, to avoid any rubbing of the bandage on the skin, which can be irritating.
  • Change the bandage regularly as needed. In the event of pain or swelling above or below the bandage, do not hesitate to remove it.
  • For an injured horse, always seek advice from your vet, at least by telephone.

The…
