What is Tick-Puss 2.5mg Biocanina Spray 250ml used for?
Tick-Puss 2.5 mg Biocanina 250ml is a fipronil-based skin spray solution specially designed for dogs and cats, offering up to 3 months' protection. Fipronil is an insecticide and acaricide belonging to the phenylpyrazole family. It acts by inhibiting the GABA complex, binding to the chlorine channel and thus blocking the pre- and post-synaptic passage of chloride ions across the cell membrane. This results in uncontrolled central nervous system activity and the death of insects or mites. Insecticidal efficacy against new adult flea infestations persists for up to 6 weeks in cats and up to 3 months in dogs, depending on the environmental context. The product's acaricidal efficacy lasts 4 weeks against ticks, depending on environmental infestation pressure.
The key active ingredient in Biocanina Tick-Puss is fipronil. This is a powerful insecticide and acaricide that acts by disrupting the nervous system of targeted parasites. Fipronil is recognized for its effectiveness in eliminating ticks and fleas, as well as preventing their reappearance.
This product is presented in spray form, making it convenient to use. The spray allows precise, even application of the product to your pet's coat. The spray also makes it easier to reach hard-to-reach areas such as the neck, head and tail.
Biocanina Tick-Puss offers long-lasting protection against ticks and fleas. A single application can provide protection for up to several weeks, depending on environmental conditions and your pet's level of exposure to parasites.
This spray is suitable for both dogs and cats, making it a versatile choice for households with several pets. You can use it with confidence to protect all your four-legged companions from parasites.
Elanco veterinary laboratory also offers Capstar flea tablets for cats, at the best price in our online pharmacy.
How to use this flea spray
Route of administration: Manual spray gun for external use only.
To moisten the coat down to the skin, apply 3 to 6 ml per kg of body weight (i.e. 7.5 to 15 mg of fipronil per kg of body weight), depending on hair length.
This dosage can be achieved with 6 to 12 sprays per kg bodyweight. Depending on hair length:
- The 250 ml spray gun delivers 1.5 ml per spray. It treats a 20 kg dog 2 to 4 times.
Spray the product all over the animal's coat from a distance of approx. 10-20 cm. Apply in the opposite direction to hair growth, ensuring that the entire coat is moistened. Massage the coat, especially on long-haired animals, to ensure that the product penetrates all the way to the skin. For treatment of the area around the head, or to treat young or nervous animals, application can be made by first spraying the product onto a glove and then rubbing the glove into the coat. Allow to air dry. Do not use a towel to dry the animal.
