Scots Pine essential oil, number 26 in Arkopharma's Arko-Essentiel Olfae range, is a natural product with multiple pharmacological properties beneficial to respiratory health and the body in general.

The essence of Scots Pine needles has remarkable antimicrobial properties. Thanks to compounds such as alpha-pinene, it has proven pulmonary antiseptic and antibacterial effects against common pathogens such as Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli and Klebsiella pneumoniae. It is also antifungal, notably against Candida albicans, and antiviral, acting against the herpes virus HSV-1.

The alpha-pinene in Scots pine essential oil confers expectorant and mucus-thinning properties. By thinning mucus, this essential oil facilitates expectoration, helping to clear the respiratory tract and relieve congestion. The essential oil's active compounds, notably monoterpene carbides (MT) and MT esters, give it anti-inflammatory properties. This action helps reduce joint and muscle inflammation, offering relief to animals suffering from pain and stiffness.

Scots Pine essential oil acts as a neurotonic and hypertensive stimulant tonic, offering physical and mental revitalization. It also stimulates digestive microcirculation, promoting better assimilation of nutrients and optimal gastrointestinal health.
