Our advice and expert opinions

Fleas are the most common ectoparasite infesting carnivores (dogs, cats, kittens and puppies), in all environments (forest, rural, urban). In the natural environment and in warmer climates, it can be observed all year round. In temperate and cold climates, infestations are highest from spring to autumn. Below 0°C, most fleas and flea larvae die off, but migratory birds bring them back from the south, and a certain number survive in burrows, particularly near hibernators, or in houses. Infested pets (dogs, cats, kittens and puppies) sow flea eggs (sometimes called floor fleas). These flea eggs wait for favorable conditions to hatch, usually all at once.

No natural or chemical insecticide solution can be effective if your dog or cat is already infested, as your home, car and outbuildings have already become a haven for fleas. In such cases, all living areas should be disinsected immediately with Foggers and/or treated with a natural insecticide lotion for the home.
