What is Rhodeo External Avian Powder 125g used for?

Rhodeo Avian Powder is a natural anti-parasite for birds and poultry. It is effective against fleas, ticks and mosquitoes, as well as mites, and its formula adheres to birds' plumage and skin for maximum, continuous effectiveness. Rhodeo Poudre Externe Aviaire 125g works on both insects (mallophagous bird lice) and mites, in particular :

Dermanissus galinae or false red louse. In the event of major infestation, it may be advisable to treat the environment as well.

Rhodeo Poultry Powder works effectively thanks to its formula, specially developed for external application to birds and poultry. When applied, the powder adheres to the birds' plumage and skin, creating a continuous protective barrier against parasites. Rhodeo External Avian Powder offers versatile action by targeting several types of harmful invaders, including :

Fleas can cause significant discomfort in birds and poultry. Rhodeo Avian External Powder is effective against fleas, reducing the risk of infestation.

Ticks can transmit a variety of diseases to birds and poultry. This powder effectively repels them, helping to prevent infection.

Mosquitoes can carry dangerous diseases to birds and poultry. Rhodeo External Avian Powder offers protection against these biting insects.

Mites, particularly Dermanissus galinae (false red louse), can cause serious health problems in birds and poultry. Rhodeo External Avian Powder is effective against these parasites.

How to use this powder

2 modes of administration: Direct mode

Apply the powder all over the bird, paying particular attention to the parasitized areas. Malleable bird lice have very different attachment sites: wishbone, thighs, neck, head, back, peri-cloacal area...
A dose of 4 g of powder is needed to treat a 4 kg bird.
Equivalent to one level tablespoon.

Indirect or self-treatment

After an initial manual treatment, or in place of it, it is possible for birds to treat themselves. To do this, lay out and fill a basin with fine sand and/or ash, and mix powder into the remaining 2 cm of sand at a rate of 5 level tablespoons of powder for a diameter of 35 cm 2 level tablespoons of powder for a diameter of 20 cm 1 level tablespoon of powder for a diameter of 14 cm.
This method is preferable for large numbers of birds to be treated (canary farms, etc.), for follow-up treatment and when birds are difficult or impossible to capture.
Can be used on chicks and young birds from 3 days of age.
Rhodeo avian powder does not kill louse eggs, so a second application is required within 7 to 10 days of the first treatment.
N.B. This container can be buried to lie flush with the ground.

Waiting period :

Eggs = 0 Meat = 5 days (for organoleptic reasons (potential residual odors/tastes).
To respect the environment, do not use Rhodeo powder directly in natural delousing areas.
If swallowed, consult a doctor.
If splashed in eyes, wash with plenty of water.
In case of massive inhalation, remove patient to fresh air.
Keep out of reach of children.
Do not use on cats (caution).

What is its composition?

The powder is a three-phase powder incorporating :

  • 1 immediate-release powder (impregnated calcium carbonate), which binds electively to feathers and down
  • 1 delayed-release powder (vegetable carbon), which binds electively to feathers and down
  • 1 delayed-release powder (gelatin), which fixes electively on the skin Note that a hen has a high body temperature (42 / 43 °) and that the liquefaction temperature of gelatin is 28 / 30 °.

  • Geraniol 2% case n° 106-24-1
  • Dalmatian chysanthemate 0.8% case no. 89997-63-7
  • Thyme/pine scent
  • Excipients: calcium carbonate, vegetable carbon (coconut) impregnated gelatin
