Our advice and opinions from pharmacy experts
Dental plaque (or tartar deposit) is a thin white or yellowish film that is placed on the teeth after each meal. It is made up of food residues and bacteria.
When tartar is not removed regularly, plaque can solidify and cause cavities or gum disease (gengivitis) and mouth.
Why use a mouthwash?
Oral dental hygiene concerns the entire oral sphere: the teeth, of course, but also the interdental spaces , the gums, the tongue, the palate, the throat, etc. Brushing the teeth is therefore not enough, and mouthwashes are ideal to complement the action.
