How to treat radiodermatitis in radiotherapy with homeopathy
Radiotherapy is a locoregional treatment for cancer. It uses radiation to destroy cancer cells by blocking their ability to multiply.
There's nothing harmless about undergoing chemotherapy or radiotherapy. And while these conventional treatments are essential for curing the disease, alternative medicines can be useful in alleviating the side effects.
- Irritant dermatitis lesions are caused by skin contact with an irritant. They are characterized by lesions of highly variable appearance, ranging from simple redness to the formation of bubbles or even necrosis, accompanied by pruritus, tingling or a burning sensation. They must be distinguished from contact eczemas.
- The topography of the lesions corresponds to the area that came into contact with the irritant, without extending beyond the contact zone or causing distant lesions.
- Lesions generally appear within hours of contact with the irritant. They disappear if the irritant is not repeated.
Homeopathic Kit description Radiotherapy
The most frequent side-effect of radiotherapy, radiodermatitis initially resembles a severe sunburn: the skin is red, dry, hot, swollen and gradually begins to peel. The cause is the ionizing rays delivered by the machine, designed to destroy diseased cells and prevent them from multiplying.
To prevent this redness from worsening, oozing and becoming very painful, it must be treated quickly. It is important to consult your radiotherapist before any treatment.
Discover our homeopathic radiotherapy kit to relieve the redness of radiodermatitis:
Throughout radiotherapy:
- every morning, take 5 granules of Radium Bromatum 9 CH
- and, morning and evening, 3 granules of Belladonna 5 CH .
Before each session, just after, 4 times in the next hour and every evening of the month, :
- add 3 granules of Apis Mellifica 15 CH.
However, it's important to stress that homeopathy is concerned with treating individuals, not diseases. It is therefore preferable to consult a homeopath to be sure of using the remedies best suited to your situation.

Precautions for use
Due to the presence of lactose, this medicine should not be used in cases of galactosemia, glucose-galactose malabsorption syndrome or lactose deficiency. For lactose-intolerant patients, granules and doses can be made with sucrose.
- Do not take astringent substances (coffee, tobacco, camphor, mint and chamomile) within half an hour of taking granules or globules. Use mint-free toothpaste.
- Pregnant women: Homeopathic medicines have no chemical toxicity, no contraindications, no interaction with other drugs, and no adverse effects related to the quantity of product ingested.
- Keep homeopathic medicines away from light, heat, humidity and all sources of fumes and perfumes.
- What to do if there is no improvement within 24 hours: Certain pathologies cannot be treated with homeopathic medicines simply by self-medication. Their severity requires medical advice from a homeopathic or allopathic doctor. This doctor will judge whether your condition can be treated with homeopathy alone, or whether your treatment needs to be supplemented with allopathy.
If your symptoms persist, consult your doctor or homeopath.
Your pharmacist's advice:
-
In any case, before each radiotherapy session, remember to wash yourself thoroughly with soap (no perfume), then dry yourself well, without applying any other product.
- Apply Cicaderma ointment locally after each radiotherapy session and on days when there is no radiotherapy (never apply it before the rays).
-
The good news is that ten days after the rays have stopped, your burns should begin to regress spontaneously. However, you should not expose yourself to the sun for a year.
-
Keep homeopathic medicines away from light, heat, humidity, fumes and perfumes.
