Le Comptoir Aroma Organic Officinal Lavender Essential Oil is an oil used for its sedative, antidepressant, relaxing, hypotensive and antibacterial properties.

What is Le Comptoir Aroma Organic Lavender Essential Oil 10ml used for?

Officinal Lavender is an aromatic evergreen shrub. It can be grown in northern regions and at low altitudes. In the wild, it grows mainly in the Alpes de Haute Provence, at altitude (between 800 and 1600m), with low yields and difficult harvesting.

Le Comptoir Aroma Organic Officinal Lavender Essential Oil is an oil used for its sedative, antidepressant, relaxing, hypotensive and antibacterial properties.

  • Stimulates and refreshes.
  • Invigorates body and mind.
  • Calms nausea, motion sickness and migraines.
  • Relieves pain and itching thanks to its cooling power.

Comptoir AromaOrganic Officinal Lavender Essential Oil is particularly effective as a spasmolytic and muscle relaxant, thanks to its high concentration of linalool and linalyl acetate. It helps reduce muscular spasms, whether digestive or respiratory in origin, by limiting involuntary contractions of smooth muscles. Linalool inhibits the release of acetylcholine, a key neurotransmitter in muscle contraction, while linalyl acetate acts as a vascular antispasmodic by activating nitric oxide.

This essential oil is also known for its calming and anxiolytic properties. It helps you fall asleep and get a good night's sleep, while helping to manage stress and improve concentration. The active components, linalool and linalyl acetate, interact with neuromediators involved in mood and sleep, such as GABA, serotonin, noradrenalin and acetylcholine, and reduce levels of the stress hormone cortisol.

Research has shown that the linalool present in Officinal Lavender essential oil has a notable ability to reduce pain. It acts on a variety of receptors, including opioid, muscarinic and dopaminergic, providing effective analgesic action and local anesthesia.

Components such as linalool, terpinen-4-ol and monoterpene esters contribute to the essential oil's vasodilatory and hypotensive properties. It helps lower heart rate and blood pressure, acting as an antispasmodic and inducing vasodilation by relaxing vascular smooth muscle.

Officinal Lavender essential oil stimulates cell regeneration and promotes wound healing. Its linalool and sesquiterpene carbides stimulate granulation tissue formation and collagen renewal. Its antibacterial and antifungal properties, due to the synergy of its components, make it effective against various pathogens, particularly in combination with other essential oils.

In addition to its therapeutic effects, Lavender essential oil is a powerful anti-parasite and insecticide, effective against ticks, mites, lice and other insects, especially moths. Lavender essential oil effectively counteracts inflammation and offers a local anesthetic action. The linalool and linalyl acetate it contains have anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects, inhibiting inflammation and pain.
