Gaviscon pro menthe provides rapid relief from the pain and discomfort of heartburn and acid reflux.
This medicine is designed to relieve stomach upset.

GAVISCONPRO MENTHE, suspension buvable forms a protective layer that floats on top of the stomach contents. This layer prevents reflux and keeps stomach contents away from the esophageal wall, relieving heartburn and acid regurgitation. They can occur during pregnancy or with hiatal hernia.

They can be aggravated if you eat a fatty or very spicy diet. If you drink too much alcohol, smoke, wear tight-fitting clothes, are overweight, lean forward or lie down.

GAVISCONPRO acid reflux mint in single-dose sachets

GavisconPro is the only sachet to contain 1000 mg sodium alginate for fast, long-lasting action against heartburn and acid reflux. Gavinsconpro is a sugar-free mint medicine for the symptomatic treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (heartburn, acid reflux, heartburn).

Description of GAVISCONPRO mint acid reflux single-dose sachets

GavisconPro forms a protective layer, floating above the stomach contents. This layer helps prevent acid reflux in the esophagus, thus relieving heartburn.

Pharmacotherapeutic class: OTHER MEDICINES FOR PEPTIC ULCERATION AND GASTROESOPHAGIC REFLUX
GASTRO-OESOPHAGEAL REFLUX DISEASE (G.O.R.D.)
ATC code: A02BX
After ingestion, the suspension interacts with gastric fluid to form a near-neutral alginic acid gel, floating above the gastric contents and preventing gastro-oesophageal reflux. In the event of severe reflux, the gel itself can be regurgitated into the esophagus, interposing itself between the esophageal wall and the irritating gastric fluid, thus exerting a soothing effect.

Our advice and expert opinions in pharmacy

Heartburn, acid reflux, a bitter taste in the mouth, disturbed sleep - these are the symptoms of gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GERD).
Gastro-oesophageal reflux is linked to the digestive process. Food is pre-cut in the mouth, then travels down the esophagus. Once in the stomach, it is digested by enzymes and hydrochloric acid secreted by the gastric glands. Unlike the stomach, the esophagus has no protection system against gastric acid.
So, to prevent the acid from rising and causing burns, a sphincter closes the entrance to the stomach: this is the cardia. It's a kind of anti-reflux system. The diaphragm also plays a role. Part of the muscle fiber actually surrounds the sphincter and contributes to closing the passage.
When this barrier fails, acid-impregnated food is able to flow back up into the esophagus. This is what causes the burning sensation known as gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD).

Warnings on medications for digestive problems

Caution: a medicine is not a product like any other. Read the package insert carefully before ordering. Keep medicines out of the reach of children. If symptoms persist (heartburn, acid reflux, heartburn), ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice. Beware of incompatibilities with your current products.

  • Please inform your online pharmacist of your current treatments to identify any incompatibilities. The order validation form contains a personalized message field for this purpose.
  • Click here to find the leaflet for GAVISCONPRO MENTHE on the Agence Nationale de Sécurité du Médicament et des Produits de Santé website.
  • GAVISCONPRO MENTHE, suspension buvable belongs to a group of medicines called"anti-reflux". Acid reflux is the process by which acidic gastric fluid flows back up into the esophagus. Unlike the stomach, the lining of the esophagus is not resistant to acidity, which is why reflux causes pain and discomfort that can feel like burning.
