What is Pranarôm Ginger essential oil used for?

Gingeressential oil has analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties when applied topically. It is antifungal and immunostimulant, as it counteracts immunosuppression. It is a digestive tonic and stomachic. It is a mildly laxative, carminative, aperitive and anti-nauseant essential oil. It is also a sexual tonic, aphrodisiac, antispasmodic, antitussive and expectorant.

Ginger rhizome has been known for over 6,000 years in India and China for the treatment of stomach aches, diarrhea and nausea, and is also widely used in cooking. Today, several double-blind, placebo-controlled studies have established the efficacy and safety of ginger in the treatment of nausea in pregnancy and post-operative nausea. The "Commission E" for phytotherapy recognizes the medicinal use of ginger rhizome to treat digestive disorders and prevent nausea caused by motion sickness.

Ginger essential oil has a wide range of pharmacological properties beneficial to health, including:

The gingerols and shogaols present in ginger act directly on the stomach mucosa, offering anti-nausea properties. This action is particularly effective against post-operative nausea. α-zingiberene stimulates gastric secretions and intestinal peristalsis, promoting digestion and accelerating the passage of food from the stomach to the intestine. In addition, ginger essential oil increases the activity of digestive and intestinal enzymes, contributing to better assimilation of nutrients.

Ginger essential oil has topical anti-inflammatory properties, reducing joint and muscle pain. It is also effective in reducing knee pain after topical administration. This essential oil slows the replication of viruses responsible for colds and herpes, as well as pulmonary, urinary and intestinal infections, thanks to its active compounds MT and ST.

Ginger induces apoptosis and caspase activation, which can have a positive effect on cancer cells, notably in the case of neuroblastoma. Ginger essential oil also acts as a sexual tonic, aphrodisiac, insecticide, immunostimulant and sedative. It is active on serous membranes, anti-catarrhal, expectorant and can act on the autonomic nervous system.

We also offerImmortelle essential oil from the specialist aromatherapy laboratory Pranarom, at the best price in our online pharmacy.
