The Medisur laboratory offers its Autotest Colorectal, an innovative device designed to detect the presence of blood in stools. This tool is essential for the prevention of various intestinal pathologies such as ulcers, polyps, hemorrhoids and colorectal cancer. Thanks to its compact format and ease of use, this self-test is easy to handle at home, offering fast, reliable results with an accuracy of up to 99.1%.
Blood in the stool is not always visible to the naked eye. It may be partly digested and mixed with fecal matter, turning black. This black blood, although invisible, is a marker of various gastric disorders, ranging from the presence of ulcers to polyps or malignant tumors responsible for colorectal cancer. When in doubt, particularly following intestinal disorders or chronic abdominal pain, theMedisur Colorectal Autotest offers an in vitro diagnostic solution to analyze a sample of your stool and determine the presence of blood.
The test is performed using a collection tube and a test cassette. After collecting a stool sample using a strip of adhesive paper, two drops of the sample are placed on the cassette. The result is displayed after 5 minutes, in a clear, easy-to-interpret diagram. In the event of a positive result, we recommend that you confirm the test in the laboratory by making an appointment with your GP. Even in the event of a negative result, a medical consultation is recommended to rule out any doubts.

How to use Medisur Colorectal Self-Test?
To use theMedisur Colorectal Self-Test, start by washing your hands with soapy water and rinsing thoroughly with clean water. Then place the collection paper on the toilet. Make sure that neither the fecal sample nor the paper touches any contaminating objects, including toilet cleaners.
Unscrew the cap from the sample collection tube. Insert the applicator into the fecal sample at several random points, at least three. Avoid spooning the sample to ensure it is representative. Close the tube cap and shake vigorously to mix the sample with the extraction buffer.
Before opening the pouch containing the test cassette, bring it to room temperature. Use the cassette immediately after opening for best results. Unscrew the cap from the collection tube, break off the tip and transfer two full drops of the extracted sample into the well marked "S" on the cassette. Start a 5-minute timer. After this time, read the results. Do not read results after 20 minutes, as they may be falsified.
It is essential to read the instructions carefully before use, to ensure correct and effective use of the self-test. Certain situations, such as the presence of haemorrhoids, blood in the urine, during menstruation, or taking aspirin or alcohol in excess, can distort the results by causing gastrointestinal bleeding. If in doubt, consult a healthcare professional before using the test.
