Sarcopenia (or age-related muscular dystrophy) is a pathology consensually defined by EWGSOP (The European Working Group on Sarcopenia in Older People) as a progressive and severe loss of muscle mass, strength and function during the aging process.
From the age of 30, muscle tissue undergoes progressive degeneration of the order of 3 to 8% per decade, accelerating from the age of 50, and by the age of 70 we have lost half our muscle mass to adipose tissue.
Undernutrition is a geriatric syndrome recognized as a risk factor for sarcopenia.

Health benefits :

Our advice and expert pharmacy opinions
BCAAs are essential amino acids, not produced by the body in the same way as non-essential amino acids, and derived from our diet. That's why we recommend taking BCAA supplements. This is of significant importance for elderly people suffering from malnutrition, as it can alleviate the deficiencies caused by the body's inability to synthesize these amino acids on its own.
Because BCAAs are metabolized in the muscle rather than the liver, the effect of these branched-chain amino acids is much faster and more effective than any other amino acid.
