Treatment of disorders of bronchial secretion in adults , in particular during acute bronchial affections and acute episodes of chronic bronchopneumopathies.

Symptoms of acute bronchitis
Inflammation of the bronchi and bronchioles during acute bronchitis causes a number of characteristic symptoms:

  • Cough: Initially dry, it evolves after a few days into a heavy cough in half of the cases. This cough can persist for 2 to 3 weeks, or even last for 3 months, the time necessary for complete healing of the bronchial lesions.
  • Chest pain reminiscent of a burn is associated with the dry cough phase.
  • Sputum (sputum), in more or less quantity, appears with the wet cough. Sputum can vary in color and texture.
  • The fever is inconstant and often moderate (< 38.5°C).
  • Respiratory signs are rare in healthy people, while bronchial rales are often present in chronic bronchitis.

Our advice and advice from pharmacy experts

Nothing more common than a cough. It is in fact a reflex movement, intended to expel from the airways the undesirable substances which obstruct them. When the lungs or bronchi perceive that foreign bodies (simple dust or pathogens) are blocking the airflow, they send a signal to the brain. This then reacts by closing the glottis, which increases the pressure in the thorax. When the "valve" opens, the air in the lungs is exhaled suddenly, more or less noisily. It's the cough.

This is said to be “oily” when it is accompanied by secretions – we also speak of “sputum” or “phlegm” – and “dry” or “irritative” in the opposite case.

How to better prevent cough ?
Of course, to prevent your cough from coming back, the best remedy is prevention. Maintaining a good immune system is essential. Adopt healthy lifestyle habits, make sure you get enough sleep and eat a diet rich in colorful vegetables and fruits. You can also consume vitamin D foods and supplements.

Vitamin D is essential for immune function. It is therefore wise to have your vitamin D levels checked by your doctor.
