Our advice and expert opinions

Gingko, a hint of immortality

Ginkgo is reputed to prolong life. Its fame is established throughout Far Eastern medicine. From China, it spread to Japan and Korea as early as the 12th century. There, it became a sacred symbol of longevity. Today, research is showing that it is beneficial for a whole range of problems associated with advancing age, from cognitive problems (memory, concentration, Alzheimer's prevention) to the fight against free radicals.
Ginkgo biloba is the oldest tree species whose specimens are still identical to their ancestors. It already populated the planet 300 million years ago. Thanks to a few specimens found in ancient Chinese temples, it has been replanted around the world, mainly as an ornamental tree. Exceptionally resistant to environmental stress, it can live up to 1,000 years and reach 40-50 m in height. It seems to resist pollution well and adapts easily to urban environments.
