What is Protect Fourbure chevaux 500ml solution buvable Farnam?

Protect Fourbure is a natural complex specially formulated for horses and ponies prone to laminitis.

Protect Fourbure helps to:

  • Eliminate toxins from horses' bodies: (Vitamin B12, Methionine, Choline, Betaine, Milk thistle: sylimarine)
  • Promotes urinary elimination of toxins through a diuretic action
  • Streamline blood circulation (by lowering blood pressure and improving blood flow)
  • Reduce inflammation

Regular use of Protect Fourbure can help prevent the onset of laminitis in susceptible horses and ponies. In addition, it can help relieve symptoms in equines already affected by the condition, improving their quality of life.

The elimination of toxins is essential to maintain the overall health of horses. Protect Fourbure acts as a powerful detoxifier, helping to eliminate harmful substances that could trigger or aggravate laminitis.

Protect Fourbure components, such as Vitamin B12 and Methionine, support equine metabolism. A balanced metabolism is crucial to prevent imbalances that can lead to laminitis.

By promoting better blood circulation and reducing inflammation, Protect Fourbure contributes to the general well-being of horses and ponies. Healthier hooves and reduced laminitis-related pain significantly improve their quality of life.

Our advice and expert opinions

Laminitis is a dreaded disease of equidae, characterized by painful inflammation of the soft tissues inside the horny box of the feet, particularly of the forelimbs or all four limbs. This condition can progress to severe and persistent stages, with serious consequences for the horse's health. Understanding the fundamental aspects of laminitis is essential to fully appreciate the importance of FARNAM's Protect Fourbure in its management.

Laminitis can manifest itself in two main ways: acute and chronic. Each of these forms presents specific challenges for horse owners. Acute laminitis, often referred to as a crisis, is a sudden and intense condition. Horses with acute laminitis may exhibit severe symptoms such as a stiff gait, a hunched stance, difficulty in turning short (especially on hard ground), excessive heat in the feet, and an increase in the digital pulse (palpable pulsations at the base of the fetlock). These signs are often alarming for owners, and prompt intervention is needed to relieve pain and minimize hoof damage.

Chronic laminitis, on the other hand, is a condition of permanent discomfort that can persist for long periods. Symptoms are generally less severe than those of acute laminitis, but they consistently affect the horse's quality of life. Equines suffering from chronic laminitis may experience stiff, uncomfortable gait, difficulty moving and standing up, and constant sensitivity of the feet. Long-term management of this form of laminitis is essential for the animal's well-being.

In addition to the symptoms mentioned, laminitis can also lead to serious complications. Prolonged inflammation of the soft tissues can lead to necrosis (tissue death), which aggravates pain and can result in the distal phalanx tilting or sinking inside the hoof. In the most severe cases, this can even lead to perforation of the sole, a critical situation for the horse.
