What is Thuasne Biflex 17 + strong elastic compression bandage used for?

Thuasne Biflex compression bandages are designed to reduce the effects of veno-lymphatic insufficiency. They confer pressure on the skin in order to reduce the width of the superficial veins facilitating venous return.

Biflex 17+ compression bandages are two-way, long-stretch compression bandages (they have two blue threads). They adapt perfectly to the morphology of each patient. Thanks to an overlap at half the band, a contention of Force 3 is generated, and a contention of Force 4 with an overlap at 2/3 of the band.

Biflex 17 + compression bandages are recommended for open venous ulcers to improve healing and to reduce lymphedema of the lower limbs.

How to properly use Thuasne Biflex 17 + strong elastic compression bandage?

Installation of Biflex compression bandages :

• Apply the strip preferably in the morning before getting up, foot flexed at 90°.
• Always respect the calibration, the rectangle must turn into a square.
• Position the calibration strip flat visible.
• Make a turn passing under the foot, then a second turn which approaches the ankle. Cover the heel.
• Go under the foot then around the ankle, on the back of the heel and back on top of the foot.
• Go around the ankle again.
• Go up along the calf, shifting regularly.
• Finish 2 cm below the knee or 5 cm below the gluteal fold.
• Remove the tape at night. Roll it up starting from the end opposite the loop.
• Never cut the tape.
