Our advice and expert pharmacy opinions

In the case of potential respiratory problems and in general, the most important thing is to minimize the risk of respiratory tract irritation.
In particular, limit dust in your horse's environment.

  • Feed wet hay rather than volatile, crushed dry feed.
  • Put your horse in a well-ventilated area where he won't inhale too much dust, or put him in a meadow.
  • Do not use straw as bedding, but use wood shavings, flax fibre or shredded paper.
  • Clean the stall regularly and ventilate to avoid aggressive ammonia odors and fumes.
  • Avoid draughts.
