Our advice and expert opinions in pharmacy

Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD ) is a benign condition in which stomach contents reflux abnormally into the esophagus. However, if left untreated, gastro-oesophageal reflux can lead to serious complications.

To complement Phosphalugel, we recommend taking 3 to 5 granules of Sulfuricum Acidum 5CH before meals.

Phosphalugel: Relief of Digestive Pain and Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD)

Phosphalugel is an effective medicine specially designed to relieve pain caused by digestive pathologies affecting the esophagus, stomach or duodenum. Thanks to its antacid properties, it offers fast, effective relief from a variety of gastrointestinal disorders. Find out how Phosphalugel works to relieve these ailments.

Indications :

Phosphalugel is indicated in the treatment of a number of digestive disorders, including :

  1. Gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GERD): Phosphalugel is an effective response to the burning and acid reflux associated with gastro-oesophageal reflux disease. Phosphalugel acts by neutralizing excess gastric acid to rapidly relieve discomfort.

  2. Gastric and duodenal pain: Phosphalugel is also recommended for alleviating pain affecting the stomach and duodenum. Its antacid action relieves irritation and promotes healing.

  3. Oesophageal disorders: Phosphalugel can soothe pain and burning sensations in the oesophagus, sometimes resulting from acid reflux.

Composition and Mechanism of Action:

Phosphalugel contains aluminum and magnesium salts which act by neutralizing hydrochloric acid present in the stomach. This antacid action reduces gastric acidity, relieving the pain and unpleasant symptoms associated with digestive disorders. In addition, Phosphalugel forms a protective film that acts as a barrier between the gastrointestinal mucosa and acidity, helping to protect and heal lesions.

Directions for use :

  • Take Phosphalugel as directed by your healthcare professional, usually after meals and at bedtime.
  • Shake bottle well before each use.
  • Follow the recommended dosage for optimal relief.

Cautions and Warnings :

  • Consult a health care practitioner before using Phosphalugel if you have kidney problems, high blood pressure or any other medical condition.
  • Avoid taking Phosphalugel at the same time as other medications, as it may interfere with their absorption. Take them an hour apart if necessary.
  • If symptoms persist or worsen, consult a doctor immediately.

Phosphalugel is an effective ally in relieving the pain and discomfort associated with digestive pathologies. However, it is essential to follow the advice of your healthcare professional for safe and effective use.

GLOSSARY (summary)

NSAIDs
Abbreviation of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug. A family of anti-inflammatory drugs that are not derived from cortisone (steroids), the best known of which is aspirin.

antacid
Drug which neutralizes the acidity of gastric secretions or which blocks the glands responsible for the secretion of acid.

antibiotics
Substance capable of blocking the multiplication of certain bacteria or of killing them. The spectrum of an antibiotic is the set of bacteria on which this product is usually active. Unlike bacteria, viruses are not sensitive to antibiotics. The first antibiotics were extracted from cultures of fungi: penicillium (penicillin), streptomyces (streptomycin). They are currently manufactured by chemical synthesis. Antibiotics are divided into families: penicillins, cephalosporins, macrolides, tetracyclines (cyclines), sulfonamides, aminoglycosides, lincosanides, phenicols, polymyxins, quinolones, imidazoles, etc.
Inappropriate use of antibiotics can promote the development of resistance: use an antibiotic only on medical prescription, respect its dosage and duration, do not give or advise another person an antibiotic that has been prescribed for you. .

dialysis
A method of purifying the blood in cases of severe renal failure, essentially ensured by the use of an artificial kidney.

inflammation
Natural reaction of the organism against an element recognized as foreign. It manifests itself locally as redness, warmth, pain or swelling.

renal failure
Inability of the kidneys to eliminate wastes or drugs. Advanced kidney disease does not necessarily result in a decrease in the amount of urine passed. Only a blood test and the determination of creatinine can reveal this disease.

mucous
Tissue (membrane) that lines the cavities and ducts of the body communicating with the outside (digestive tract, respiratory system, urinary tract, etc.).

symptoms
Disturbance experienced by a person with an illness. The same symptom can represent different diseases and the same disease does not necessarily give the same symptoms in all patients.
