Clariver Natural Cough Syrup for Children 175ml in our organic pharmacy.

What is Clariver Natural Cough Syrup for Children 175ml used for?

Clariver 100% natural cough syrup for children is formulated with plant extracts that have a beneficial effect on the respiratory tract:

  • protects the mucous membrane
  • relieves coughs
  • promotes expectoration

Clariver children's cough syrup coats and soothes mucous membranes inflamed by coughing spells. It helps hydrate mucous membranes and reduce mucus. It forms a mucoadhesive gel with a protective action and barrier function that limits contact with external agents and irritants. It also boosts the immune system for better defense of the body.

The plant extracts in this blend have a soothing and calming action on dry or productive coughs.

  • Plantain extract: plantain is composed of iridoids, including aucuboside, a heat-sensitive active ingredient with antitussive and anti-infectious properties. It is particularly suitable for treating dry coughs, preventing seasonal allergies and eczema.
  • White mallow extract: has calming, soothing and anti-inflammatory properties . It soothes irritated or inflamed throats and calms children's dry coughs.
  • Sweet orange essential oil: has an antiseptic action to limit bronchopulmonary affections in children: coughs, otitis, rhinitis. It also has calming and sedative properties.

The honey, apple juice concentrate andorange flavouring give it a taste that children will appreciate.

Our advice and expert opinions

A cough cleans the lungs, ridding them of microbe-contaminated secretions (mucus). Your child may have a "wet" cough: the accumulation of secretions in the bronchial tubes, or a "dry" cough: irritation. Your child may vomit after strong coughing fits.

The cough is often triggered by a runny nose. This discharge accumulates and irritates the back of the nose, triggering coughing fits, especially when lying down with a cold, sinusitis or strep throat. Infections of the trachea (tracheitis), bronchi (bronchitis) or lungs (pneumonia) can lead to severe coughing.

Further advice:

  • Humidify the air: dry air increases irritation of the mucous membranes and causes coughing fits. If room humidity is below 45%, use a humidifier. Choose a cold-air humidifier to avoid the risk of burning. There's no need to exceed 55% humidity.
  • Clear the nose: Dry secretions block your child's nose. Use saline solution (salt water in the form of nose drops) to rinse the nose thoroughly. Then ask him to blow his nose thoroughly. If your baby is too small to blow his nose, suck his secretions with a baby nasal aspirator.
