What is Bioderma Photoderm Lait Solaire Ultra Spf50+ used for?
A very high level of protection specially formulated to meet the needs of photosensitive skin and people at severe risk ofUV hypersensitivity, in the event of photo-induced skin alterations. It protects against sunburn, prevents sun intolerance and combats premature skin aging.
This sun lotion provides sun protection that increases the skin's tolerance threshold to the sun.
- Protection of skin cells, preventing the appearance of sunburn cells and preserving the skin's endogenous anti-inflammatory properties. This reduces the amplification of the inflammatory process caused by UVA-UVB.
- Preservation of skin cell DNA integrity during solar irradiation. This sun lotion stimulates the skin's natural defenses and reduces the production of free radicals by UVA rays, which is particularly sought-after in people with deficient DNA repair capabilities.
- Ultra-protective, this sun milk from the Bioderma Photoderm range provides 8h of hydration thanks to its light, melting texture. It is perfectly suited to even the most vulnerable sensitive skin: children from 12 months, adults, pregnant or breastfeeding women, and patients undergoing or following photosensitizing treatment.
Melting texture, colorless on application, non-greasy, no white marks, water-resistant.

Many skin conditions are aggravated or triggered by the sun. The main reactions are photosensitization and solar allergies (or lucites).
Photosensitization results from the encounter of ultraviolet rays with a sensitive substance present on the skin. This may be a product used locally (perfume, medication) or a molecule brought to the skin by the bloodstream (photo-sensitizing medication). Patients may present with a sudden reaction. The skin is red, giving the impression of sunburn.
Phototoxicity and photoallergy: what's the difference?
A phototoxic reaction is one that occurs rapidly, even after very short or low exposure. Symptoms (burning and sunburn) appear almost immediately on exposure; the rash is limited to the exposed areas and does not spread to the rest of the body.
Photoallergy, on the other hand, may have an incubation period. There is an initial sensitization of the body during which there is no reaction, followed by a second during which the allergy develops. The rash may spread to unexposed areas, resembling itchy eczema.
What are the precautions for use?
Remember that the reverberation of sand, water or snow can be very strong, increasing the UV dose received.
If you feel an abnormal sensation of burning or intense heat while outdoors, go indoors immediately.
