Properties of essential oils:

• Ylang-ylang: The strange petals of the Ylang-ylang tree give off an intense, suave fragrance that is found in many floral compositions. In the wild, the tree grows to over 20 m, but in cultivation it is pruned to 2 m to facilitate flower harvesting.
• Lemon tree: A small tree with a light-green trunk, the Lemon tree produces both its subtly scented white flowers and its acid pulp fruits. The essential oil is obtained by pressing the fruit and steam distillation.
