Azole antifungal drugs in your online pharmacy

We offer the range of antifungal medication for fungal infection of the imidazole family: Econazole, fenticonazole, which includes a wide variety of effective creams , ovules and emulsions used in local applications in the treatment of skin fungal infections . Find our selection of medication for female disorders which will limit the inconvenience caused.

Imidazole drugs are historically the first azole antifungals that have been used. Due to their poor digestive absorption and their hepatotoxicity, their use nowadays is mainly done locally (in the form of a cream, gel or varnish for onychomycosis) for superficial mycoses mainly affecting the integuments, skin or mucous.

The first triazoles (fluconazole, itraconazole) and second generation have succeeded the imidazoles with the advantage of having a broader spectrum of activity against fungal infections .

Azole antifungals exhibit common undesirable effects, in particular hepatotoxicity and other toxicities specific to each of the compounds. Since azole antifungals are all enzyme inhibitors of the CYP450 isoenzymes (to varying degrees), they provide numerous drug interactions. They also undergo metabolization phenomena themselves and are therefore also the target of drug interactions.

Note that the use of antifungal creams presents a certain safety thanks to a weak systemic passage of azole antifungal drugs for topical use.

A distinction is made between azole antifungals used generally, and those used topically (local use, on the skin or nails) .

  • Azole antifungals for systemic use: fluconazole, itraconazole, posaconazole, voriconazole, isavuconazole
  • Azole antifungals for topical use: ketoconazole, miconazole, bifonazole, econazole, isoconazole, omoconazole, oxiconazole, fenticonazole, sertaconazole.
