Chlorexidine/Benzalkonium/Benzyl Alcohol Mylan 50 ml is a medicine indicated for the antisepsis of small superficial wounds.
This medicine is indicated for the antisepsis of small superficial wounds . It is a solution for local application .
The skin is the body's first defense against external aggressions. It protects against environmental impurities and the sun and acts as a barrier against germs and other pathogens. An open wound from a cut or scrape represents a break in this protective armor, allowing pathogens to infiltrate the body. If it is an open skin wound, the wound should be disinfected before covering it with a bandage or compress . This prevents germs and other bacteria from entering the body through the open wound. If you refuse to disinfect the wound, you expose yourself to a certain risk of infection: pathogenic germs can spread through the body through the bloodstream.
If it's a small cut or scrape, the wound bleeds in the vast majority of cases. It's a very human response to want to stop the bleeding as quickly as possible. Nevertheless, let the blood flow for a short time: this will allow the bleeding to allow pathogens that have entered the wound to come out, prompting a first natural disinfection of the skin. To clean the wound, run running water over the affected part of the body. If this is not possible, dab the area with a clean cloth and lukewarm water. Carefully check whether foreign bodies are still in the wound. You can carefully remove small gravel and shards of glass or wood with tweezers .
If the injured area is well cleaned and no longer bleeding, the wound must then be disinfected. For this, use an antiseptic spray , containing for example the active ingredient chlorhexidine which fights very successfully against a multitude of bacteria. Finally, protect the wound with a dressing to prevent pathogens from entering from the outside. For large abrasions and cuts, use a sterile pad that you secure with a strip of gauze .
