What is Pranarom Hydrolat Tea Tree Bio 150ml used for?
A hydrolat is a water of distillation or floral water obtained during steam distillation of an aromatic or medicinal plant, to obtain an essential oil. During the distillation process in the alembic, the aromatic molecules of the distilled raw materials are carried away with the steam, condensed and recovered in a decanter. The resulting distillate is composed of supernatant essential oil and water of distillation, in which a tiny fraction of the essential oil has been solubilized.
A hydrolat is not as powerful as an essential oil, but being made up of water (floral water), it retains water-soluble odorant molecules and remains lightly perfumed, with certain therapeutic properties. Melaleuca alternifolia originated in New South Wales, Australia, where the Bundjalung aborigines had long used the leaves to cure themselves of a variety of ailments.
Tea tree leaves came to Europe thanks to the English navigator James Cook around 1770, who found them on the islands of the New Zealand archipelago: the aborigines were already using them to make a kind of "tea". As real tea became scarce, the crew began to appreciate infusions made from tea tree leaves. These leaves were also used by the aborigines to make a poultice for wounds. They boiled the leaves and drank them as a tea infusion, or crushed the leaves and applied them to their wounds. They would also bathe in a lagoon in which melaleuca leaves fell and macerated. They would then bathe in it to cure any minor ailments they might have.
Thanks to its antiseptic and antibacterial properties, tea tree hydrosol is ideal for cleansing and disinfecting the skin. It can be used as a facial toner to eliminate impurities and bacteria, helping to prevent the appearance of pimples and other skin imperfections.
Tea tree hydrosol is also known for its soothing and healing properties. Applied locally to irritated or inflamed areas of the skin, it helps to calm itching and redness and promotes skin regeneration, helping to heal wounds and small cuts.
In addition to its healing properties, tea tree hydrosol can be used as a spray to refresh and revitalize the skin. Its fresh, invigorating fragrance contributes to a feeling of freshness and well-being, ideal for revitalizing the skin after a long day.
Puressentiel also offerscornflower hydrosol at the best price in our online pharmacy.
