What is Giroflier Pranarom Organic Essential Oil used for?

Traditionally reputed for its properties:

  • Analgesic and antiseptic (especially for neuralgia and dental infections, tooth pain).
  • Intestinal antiseptic, cerebral energizer.

Clove essential oil is a true treasure of nature, composed mainly of eugenol, eugenyl acetate and beta caryophyllene. This unique composition gives this oil remarkable properties, notably asan analgesic and local anesthetic. Eugenol, which makes up the bulk of the oil, has been compared to lidocaine in terms of its efficacy, demonstrating even superior action. By blocking the nerve fibers responsible for pain in the dental pulp, this oil is often used in dental practices for effective pain relief.

Clove essential oil is also renowned for its antifungal properties. Thanks to eugenol, it inhibits the growth of fungi responsible for certain mycoses, notably species of the Candida spp. genus. It is particularly effective against dermatophytes, and also acts against harmful garden fungi such as Fusarium oxysporum and Botrytis cinerea.

In addition to its antifungal virtues, this oil stands out for its antibacterial properties. Studies have demonstrated its broad-spectrum activity against bacteria such as Listeria monocytogenes, Escherichia coli and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Eugenol plays a crucial role in disrupting the structure and membrane permeability of bacteria, preventing them from growing. It also has anti-biofilm properties, which are particularly useful against bacteria such as Pseudomonas and Staphylococcus aureus.

The benefits ofClove essential oil don't stop there. It has anti-inflammatory properties thanks to eugenol and beta-caryophyllene. These compounds inhibit various enzymes and molecules involved in the inflammatory process, such as cyclooxygenase and prostaglandins. The oil has even been compared to certain non-steroidal anti-inflammatories for its efficacy.

Finally, eugenol confers uterotonic properties to this oil. Although the mechanism of action has yet to be fully elucidated, it is used in some maternity wards to facilitate delivery under medical supervision. It also has anti-parasitic, acaricidal, insecticidal and pediculicidal properties, being effective against lice, certain intestinal worms and even mites.

We also offerImmortelle essential oil from the specialist aromatherapy laboratory Pranarom, at the best price in our online pharmacy.
