Autotest Covid 19 - grippe Boiron available from your online organic pharmacy is a nasal swab self-test. The CE-marked Covid 19 self-test gives you the result in 15 minutes.

What is the SARS-COV-2 & INFLUENZA A + B COMBO RAPIDE SELF-TEST?

The BoironSARS-COV-2 & INFLUENZA A + B COMBO RAPIDE SELF-TEST is an indispensable tool for anyone wishing to check for the presence of COVID-19 or influenza A/B quickly and easily. Using a nasal swab, this test provides results in just a few minutes. It's specially designed for those who want to act quickly on symptoms, or check their health after risky contact. With just a few gestures, you can find out whether you are a carrier of SARS-CoV-2, influenza A or influenza B.

The effectiveness of this test is based on the detection of specific antigens, present in samples from the upper respiratory tract. It's the perfect test for times of health uncertainty, enabling users to take the necessary measures, whether that's isolation or consulting a doctor. Positive results indicate the presence of viral antigens, but it is essential to cross-reference them with clinical information and other diagnoses.

This test is not just for symptomatic people. It is also suitable for asymptomatic people who want to be sure they are not carriers of the virus, for example before visiting relatives or resuming social activities. With this combined test, you have the advantage of checking your status against several respiratory viruses in one go, making it easier to take a quick decision in case of doubt.

Using such a self-test is not only a gesture of individual prevention, but also a way of contributing to collective safety. By obtaining a result quickly, you can limit the potential transmission of the virus to those around you. Negative results should not, however, be taken lightly. It's always advisable to consult a healthcare professional if symptoms persist despite a negative result, as viruses can sometimes escape detection in the first few days of infection.

This rapid test is your indispensable ally for getting through this period of health uncertainty with complete peace of mind. Simple to use, fast and effective, it allows you to react without delay, to protect others and take care of yourself.

Detects the presence of SARS-CoV-2 or influenza. We recommend taking a preventive treatment to avoid catching the flu virus, in the form of easy-to-take homeopathic granules.

Direct detection of SARS-CoV-2 or influenza virus proteins in nasopharyngeal secretions. Highly specific, ideal for front-line use (screening process, rapid patient triage, ambulatory diagnostic assistance, etc.).

A simpler, more economical test device, requiring no heavy equipment compared with RT-PCR tests.

Influenza / SARS-CoV-2 Ag self-test detects the presence of SARS-CoV-2 or influenza virus in a patient's nasopharyngeal secretions.

When should I use the Covid-19 / Grippe Boiron Autotest?

The Covid-19 Autotest confirms the presence of the virus when the test is positive. Its advantage lies in the rapid delivery of results (15 minutes).

Advice for use with Covid-19 and influenza self-tests

How to perform a rapid test for the detection of SARS-CoV-2 or influenza antigens, responsible for COVID-19 or the influenza virus?

Antigen tests carried out in pharmacies are based on a nasopharyngeal swab, which is much deeper and more invasive, which can sometimes complicate the test.

Using this combined test is simple and takes just a few minutes, but it's important to follow the steps carefully to get reliable results. Here's how to proceed:

  1. Wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds before starting. If soap and water are not available, use a disinfectant gel.
  2. Remove the lid from the tube containing the extraction buffer and place it carefully in the holder of the box.
  3. Open the pouch containing the sterile swab and take it without touching the soft end.
  4. Take your nasal sample by gently inserting the swab into one nostril until a slight resistance is felt. Rotate it several times against the nasal walls. Repeat the operation in the other nostril.
  5. Insert the swab into the extraction tube, mix thoroughly, then remove the swab, squeezing well to recover the sample.
  6. Place 3 drops of the extracted sample in the well provided on the test cassette.

After 10 minutes, you can read the results. A positive result will show two colored lines, while a negative result will show only one control line. In case of uncertainty, we recommend that you consult a healthcare professional.

In the event of a positive coronavirus test

A positive test confirms infection, with a significant viral presence. The person is therefore infected with the virus. The self-test has very good specificity, which means there are no false positives. There's no need to double-check with a PCR test.

  • If my test is positive, I take my temperature twice a day and I don't take any anti-inflammatories or ibuprofen without my doctor's advice.
  • I avoid contact with other people in my household or place of residence. If possible, I don't touch them. I don't kiss them.
  • I do not receive people from outside my home except carers and I stay, if possible, in a separate room.
  • I do not share my bed and I eat my meals alone in my room.
  • I wash my hands very often with soap and water and dry them with a personal towel or disposable hand towel.
  • When I cough, I blow my nose using a tissue that I then throw away.
  • I air and clean my home regularly. I don't share my everyday objects: towels and washcloths, soap, cutlery, plates, telephone, etc...
  • I dispose of waste that may be contaminated in a dedicated, sturdy plastic bag, which I seal and keep at home for 24 hours. I then dispose of it in the non-recyclable waste bin.
  • If I have any questions about my health, I call my doctor.
  • If I'm alone, worried and need answers, I call the free psychological helpline: 0800 130 000.

In the event of a negative antigen test

  • On an individual basis, a negative result does not rule out the possibility that the person is a Sars-Cov-2 carrier, due to the low sensitivity of these tests.
  • On a collective level, it is absolutely essential to continue protecting yourself and others, by following barrier gestures.
  • In the event of symptoms suggestive of Covid-19 with a negative test, it is necessary to carry out a PCR test, which is more sensitive.

Composition of the Autotest

  • 1 test cassette
  • 1 tube pre-filled with buffer
  • 1 sterile swab (CE0197)
  • 1 filter tip
  • 1 holder
  • 1 instructions for use

Precautions for use

When using this self-test, please observe a few essential precautions. Do not touch the soft end of the swab to avoid contamination. If you're testing a child, be gentle and patient, adjusting the depth of swab insertion. And be sure to dispose of test material properly after use, in accordance with local medical waste management regulations.

Remember that this is a single-use, in vitro self-test. Strictly follow the procedure and avoid reusing a kit, even if another member of your household wishes to be tested. Finally, never consume the buffer solution, and keep it out of the reach of children.

Our advice and expert opinions on Covid-19

COVID-19 is an acute respiratory infection caused by a new CoronaVirus (CoV), SARS-CoV-2.

  • Positive antigenic test = Covid-19 infection
  • Negative antigen test = indeterminate result
  • A negative antigenic test provides only false security.

Good to know:

  • Beware: self-tests without CE marking (or with a false CE marking) sold on commercial sites offer no guarantee of quality.
  • The quality of the nasopharyngeal swab is crucial. A poorly done swab (e.g., swab directed towards the upper part of the nose) will not necessarily collect enough secretions and viruses, and may result in a false negative.
  • The second important point is the sampling period. It is accepted that the incubation period for COVID-19 averages 5 days after contact with a contaminating person. During these 5 days, the "new patient" is asymptomatic, and it's only after this period that fever, runny nose, cough or muscle aches appear. It has been shown that PCR usually becomes positive only in the 48 hours preceding clinical signs. Thus, a patient tested too early with a nasopharyngeal self-test will have a negative PCR because his viral load will be too low. This is why, in the event of an asymptomatic patient having undergone a negative covid self-test, it is advisable to repeat the PCR test 5 days after coming into contact with a patient. The virus is generally eliminated within 10 days.

Preventing Covid-19 : Protect yourself and others by staying informed and taking appropriate precautions. Follow the advice of local health authorities.

To prevent the spread of COVID-19, follow these recommendations:
  • Wash your hands frequently. Use soap and water, or a hydroalcoholic solution.
  • Keep your distance from anyone coughing or sneezing.
  • Wear a mask when physical distance is not possible.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth.
  • If you cough or sneeze, cover your nose and mouth with your elbow or a handkerchief.
  • Stay at home if you feel unwell.
  • Consult a healthcare professional if you have a fever, cough or difficulty breathing.
  • Call your healthcare professional beforehand. This way, he or she can quickly direct you to the right healthcare facility. This protects you, and prevents the spread of viruses and other infections.
Masks
Protective masks can help prevent wearers from transmitting the virus to others. Wearing a mask alone does not protect against COVID-19. It must be combined with physical distancing and hand hygiene measures. Follow the advice of your local health authorities.
To date, three vaccines against COVID-19 (Pfizer/BioNTech, Moderna, AstraZeneca) have European marketing authorization. Their use in France follows the vaccination strategy established by national health authorities. gouvernement.fr
