What is Ladrôme Organic Fennel Extract Mother Tincture used for?

Fennel is a plant known for its strong anise-like aroma: you either love it or hate it. Many people are unaware that fennel has well-known health properties and benefits. Since ancient times, we’ve developed a special affinity for this vegetable.

Fennel is a vegetable in which we mainly eat the base of the stem, called the bulb. In cooking, it pairs wonderfully with fish and seafood. We would benefit greatly from eating its leaves more often, as they contain antioxidants.

Fennel is low in calories, with 21.8 Cal/100g. It is rich in fiber, potassium, and folic acid (vitamin B9). Fennel is rich in antioxidants that may protect the body’s cells from damage caused by free radicals.  Fennel contains polyacetylenes, bioactive compounds that have been shown to have anti-inflammatory and antibacterial effects, among others.

Known for its carminative and antispasmodic properties, fennel helps reduce the formation of intestinal gas and is therefore very effective in combating bloating, flatulence, colitis, and stomachaches.

Fennel contains phytoestrogens known to help maintain healthy levels of female hormones, regulate the menstrual cycle, and reduce hot flashes associated with menopause. Its antispasmodic and anti-inflammatory properties also help relieve menstrual cramps. With antiviral, anti-infective, and antifungal properties, fennel helps combat many infections. As an antimicrobial and expectorant, fennel extracts have proven effective in treating coughs, lung mucus, and inflammation of the respiratory tract.

Fennel is known for its carminative and antispasmodic properties, making it a valuable ally for the digestive system. By acting on the smooth muscles of the intestine, fennel helps reduce the formation of intestinal gas, thereby relieving bloating, flatulence, colitis, and stomachaches. This carminative action promotes more comfortable and regular digestion, reducing the unpleasant sensations associated with digestive disorders.

The phytoestrogens found in fennel play an essential role in maintaining optimal hormonal balance. By partially mimicking the action of natural estrogens in the body, these plant compounds can help regulate the menstrual cycle in women and alleviate symptoms associated with menopause, such as hot flashes. Fennel’s ability to support hormonal health makes it a natural choice for women seeking to manage their hormonal well-being holistically.

In addition to its benefits for the digestive and hormonal systems, fennel also possesses antiviral, anti-infective, and antifungal properties. These properties enable it to effectively combat various infections, whether viral, bacterial, or fungal. By strengthening the immune system and inhibiting the growth of pathogens, fennel helps protect the body against infections and promote optimal health.

Fennel extracts are effective in relieving respiratory ailments thanks to their expectorant and anti-inflammatory effects. By facilitating the expulsion of bronchial secretions and reducing inflammation in the respiratory tract, fennel helps relieve symptoms of cough, lung mucus, and respiratory infections. This beneficial effect on the respiratory system helps improve respiratory comfort and promotes easier breathing, even in cases of chronic respiratory conditions.
