Beaphar Fiprotec Combo Solution Spot-On Large Dogs 20-40 kg is recommended for the treatment of fleas alone (2 months) or mixed infestations of fleas and ticks and/or chewing lice (1 month).
Treatment of flea infestation (Ctenocephalides spp.). Insecticidal efficacy against new adult flea infestations lasts around 2 months. Prevention of flea development by inhibiting the spread of eggs (ovicidal activity) and larvae and pupae (larvicidal activity) from eggs laid by adult fleas for 2 months after application. Acaricidal action on tick infestation for 1 month (Ixodes ricinus, Dermacentor variabilis, Dermacentor reticulatus, Rhipicephalus sanguineus).
Treatment of infestation by chewing lice (Trichodectes canis). The product can also be used to treat Flea Allergy Dermatitis (FAD), if diagnosed by a veterinarian.

What are the side effects and contraindications?
Contraindications: In the absence of available data, do not treat puppies under 8 weeks of age and/or weighing less than 2 kg. Do not use on sick (e.g. systemic diseases, fever) or convalescent animals.

Adverse reactions: Among the very rarely suspected adverse reactions, transient skin reactions at the application site (skin discoloration, localized hair loss, itching, redness) and generalized itching or hair loss have been reported.
Excessive salivation, reversible nervous signs (increased sensitivity to stimulation, depression, other nervous signs), vomiting or respiratory symptoms have also been observed after use.

Avoid contact with mouth and eyes. Persons with a known hypersensitivity (allergy) to Fipronil or excipients should avoid contact with the veterinary drug. Avoid contact with fingers. If this happens, wash hands with soap and water. In case of accidental eye contact, wash immediately with plenty of water. Do not smoke, drink or eat during application. Wash hands after use. Ingestion of product is harmful.
Keep pipettes out of the reach of children, and discard used pipettes immediately after application.
Until the application area is dry, treated animals must not be handled, and children must not be allowed to play with treated animals.
It is therefore advisable not to treat animals during the day, but rather in the early evening, and not to let newly-treated animals sleep with their owners, especially children.
