How do I use these pipettes?
1 pipette of 1.34 ml treats a dog weighing between 10 kg and 20 kg. Dosage is 6.7 - 13.4 mg fipronil per kg bodyweight. Take care to use the right product for your dog's weight. External use only. Keep pipettes in original packaging until use.
Hold pipette vertically. Tap the narrow part of the pipette to ensure that the contents are in the main part of the pipette. Cut pipette tip with scissors. Part the hair between the shoulder blades and at the base of the head so that the skin is visible. Place the pipette tip on the skin and press gently to empty half the contents onto the skin in the 2 application areas. Avoid applying the solution to the coat, and do not rub the skin. Special care must be taken to avoid excessive wetting of the hair with the product, which can cause the hair to stick to the treated area. However, should this occur, it will disappear within 24 to 48 hours of application. In the absence of safety studies, the minimum treatment interval is 4 weeks. Special precautions for each target species: To optimally control flea infestations in multi-animal households, all animals in the household should be treated with an appropriate insecticide. Fleas on pets often infest their baskets, sleeping areas and usual resting places, such as carpets and upholstery. In the event of mass infestation, and as soon as pest control measures are initiated, these areas should be vacuumed regularly and treated with a suitable insecticide. No data are available on the effect of baths/shampoos on the efficacy of the product in dogs. Repeated shampooing before or after treatment may reduce the effectiveness of the product. The product does not prevent ticks from attaching themselves to the animal. Moreover, efficacy against existing ticks has not been demonstrated. For this reason, the transmission of infectious diseases cannot be ruled out. The product protects dogs from new tick infestations from the 7th to the 28th day after application. However, efficacy against tick infestation beyond 4 weeks is not known. Consequently, there may be an interruption in protection against such infestation following a new application of the product, even if the product is reapplied within the minimum 4-week interval. Special precautions for use on animals: External use only. Do not apply to wounds or skin lesions. Avoid contact with the animal's eyes. In case of accidental contact with eyes, wash immediately with plenty of water. Animals must be accurately weighed before treatment. It is important to ensure that the product is applied to an area where the animal cannot lick itself, and that animals do not lick each other after treatment. Specific studies on the safety of the product in puppies under 8 weeks of age in contact with a treated bitch have not been carried out. In this case, the product should only be used after a risk/benefit assessment has been carried out by the responsible veterinarian. Do not use at the same time as other flea products applied directly to the animal.
