Description of Hexomedin 0.1% Gel 30G tube

Indications
HEXOMEDINE is a local antiseptic. It is used for the antisepsis of skin lesions that are infected or at risk of infection.

Directions for use

Dosage and route of administration

1 application or 1 moist dressing or 1 local bath, 2 or 3 times a day. The solution is ready-to-use and does not need rinsing. Cutaneous route.

How to clean a wound?

  1. Wash hands thoroughly.
  2. Wash the wound, preferably with mild soap. Rinse with water and pat dry with a compress. Avoid conventional absorbent cotton, as it may leave fibers in the wound.
  3. Disinfect and let the antiseptic air-dry. This drying time is essential to the product's action.
  4. Avoid using too much product and cleaning the wound too often, as this may delay healing.

Composition of Hexomedine gel in 30G tube

ACTIVE SUBSTANCE: HEXAMIDINE DI-ISTIONATE.

EXCIPIENTS: ACETIC ACID, PURIFIED WATER, ETHANOL, SODIUM ACETATE, NITROGEN.

Precautions for use

Contraindications and warnings
Hypersensitivity to any of the components.

Hexomedine 0.1% Gel 30G tube must not be used in the following cases:

  • on mucous membranes,
  • on open wounds,
  • for skin antisepsis prior to an injection,
  • for disinfecting medical and surgical equipment.

Combination with other antiseptics is not recommended, as their effects may cancel each other out.

Breast-feeding: this antiseptic should not be applied to the nipple without medical advice. Careful rinsing before feeding is essential.

The solution must not be applied to mucous membranes (mouth, vagina, etc.) due to the presence of alcohol.
