Mycoses: Causes

• Candidiasis: Mycoses are most often caused by Candida albicans, a fungus normally found in the digestive tract and genital mucosa. In the presence of favorable factors, Candida can become pathogenic to the skin, nails and mucous membranes.
• Dermatophytes: Some dermatophytes are transmitted by humans (contaminated clothing, soil, etc.), others by animals (cats, dogs, horses, etc.). These fungi are foreign to the organism and are always pathogenic. There are three types of fungi: Tricophyton (on skin, nails and hair), Microsporum (on skin and scalp), Epidermophyton (on hairless skin).
• Pityrosporosis: caused by Malassezia furfur, a yeast that lives on the skin from birth. Pityrosporum orbiculare is the cause of pityriasis versicolor, a common summer mycosis.

How to use Lomexin 2% antifungal cream

Apply Lomexin 2% cream regularly to the lesions to be treated, once a day for the duration recommended by the doctor, depending on the mycosis.

Practical advice for Lomexin ointment:
For candidiasis, wash with a neutral or alkaline pH soap.
In gynecology, treatment should be accompanied by hygiene advice (wear cotton underwear, avoid vaginal douching, etc.) and, as far as possible, the elimination of contributing factors.
Do not interrupt treatment during menstruation.

Other ingredients: almond oil, polyglycolic esters of fatty acids (Xalifin 15), glycerol monostearate, sodium edetate (E385), purified water.

List of excipients: Propylene glycol, hydrogenated lanolin, cetyl alcohol.

100g of Lomexin 2% cream contains 2g of fenticonazole nitrate, of which 1.757g is fenticonazole base. This substance attacks dermatophytes (Trichophyton, Microsporum, Epidermophyton), Gram-positive bacilli and ciccoides (staphylococci, streptococci, etc.) as well as yeasts (Malassezia furfur and Candida).

In addition to this component, excipients with a notable effect include hydrogenated lanolin, propylene glycol and cetyl alcohol.
