Lomexin 2% cream is recommended for the treatment or adjunctive therapy of certain skin disorders (Perlèche) or mucous membrane disorders (mycoses) caused by microscopic fungi (candidiasis, dermatophytes, pityriasis versicolor).

Lomexin 2% fenticonazole nitrate cream in 30g tube for the treatment of perlchea

For warnings, precautions and contraindications, please consult the Lomexin cream package insert.

Perlèche (or angular cheilitis) is an intertrigo of the corners of the mouth. Most often, this lesion is bilateral (on both sides). Perlèche is very rarely contagious.

Description of Lomexin 2% antifungal cream

Lomexin 2% Cream is a topical medication containing an antifungal agent from the imidazole family.

Lomexin is recommended for the treatment or adjunctive treatment of certain skin or mucous membranedisorders (mycoses) caused by microscopic fungi (candidiasis, dermatophytes, pityriasis verslcolor).

How to treat perlachia

Perlèche is an infection of the mouth that begins with a drying of the corner of the mouth, which turns red. This is followed by the formation of lesions and, finally, cracks. The resulting pain makes chewing and speaking difficult. If left untreated, the infection can spread to the cheeks and inside the mouth.

Lomexin 2% cream is used to treat Perlèche, a lesion of the corners of the mouth ranging from dryness to cracking.

Directions for use and dosage Lomexin cream

Apply the cream regularly to the lesions to be treated, once a day for the duration recommended by the doctor depending on the mycosis.

Practical advice:

  • In the case of candidiasis, wash with a neutral or alkaline pH soap.
  • In gynecology, treatment should be accompanied by hygiene advice (wear cotton underwear, avoid vaginal douching, etc.) and, wherever possible, the elimination of factors which may contribute to the infection.
  • Do not interrupt treatment during menstruation.
  • For treatment of perlachia, 1 application per day until symptoms disappear.

Method and route of administration
This is a topical medication.

Perlachia most often has infectious causes. Bacterial perleche is most often caused by staphylococcus (Stapholococcus Aureus) or streptococcus. Candidiasis is caused by the fungus Candida Albicans. Perlachia can have both bacterial and fungal causes. There are factors that favor the development of these germs. They often develop on pre-existing lesions.

Duration of treatment with Lomexin 2%

1 application per day after intimate cleansing with a suitable soap for 6 to 7 days, as advised by your doctor.

Never use LOMEXIN 2% cream if you are allergic to any of its ingredients (or if you are cross-sensitive to other members of the imidazole group).
IF IN DOUBT, ASK YOUR DOCTOR OR PHARMACIST FOR ADVICE.

As a base treatment, we recommend Jailys Soothing and Reflecting Balm for all women who want to protect their intimacy from external aggressions, who are looking for overall repair, lasting soothing, softer, more beautiful skin and mucous membranes, and who wish to maintain a healthy scent.

Your pharmacist's advice on treating perlèche

How do you treat a crack in the corner of the mouth?

Perlèche (or angular cheilitis) is an inflammatory skin lesion at the corners of the mouth. If it persists, consult a doctor, as it may be linked to a local bacterial or mycotic infection.

If chapped lips are bacterial in origin, the doctor will prescribe a local antibiotic cream. If it's due to mycosis, a local antifungal treatment will be more effective.

A type of fungus called Candida can cause infections in the mouth and throat, and even on the lips. The latter type of infection is called perlachia. When the lips are affected by candidiasis, the corners of the mouth may be cracked and reddened.

If the cause of perlèche is infectious, treat the bacteria or fungus with an antigongic ointment such as Lomexin 2% cream for 6 to 7 days, according to your doctor's advice.
