Ducray Keracnyl, a range dedicated to acne

Ducray has designed a range to support people with oily or acne-prone skin: Keracnyl. The latter provides functional support using targeted assets. Everyone can find their ideal routine there, alone or as an accompaniment to drug treatments depending on the intensity and characteristics of their problem.

Acne is a common skin condition in adolescents, but also common in adults and babies. Acne is an endemic dermatological disease and often evolves over several years. Episodes of crisis alternate with phases of calm, depending on the seasons, aggravating factors, treatment protocols that are more or less well followed ...

Acne pimples are unsightly and often resented by people who have them on the face and / or body. At the same time, many misconceptions are circulating about acne, its causes and treatments. This range will help you see more clearly and allow you to find a solution adapted to your needs.

What are the different types of acne?

There are three main types of acne:

Juvenile acne

It is the most common form of acne. Also called "teenage acne" for the simple reason that it mainly affects teenagers and tweens. It is between 12 and 20 years old that it makes its appearance. The latter is regularly qualified as mixed insofar as different types of pimples coexist: comedones, microcysts and red pimples. The skin is often oily and the pores are large. This type of acne is linked to puberty and the production of sex hormones, including androgens. These male hormones are also present in girls and stimulate the sebaceous glands which produce sebum.

Infant acne

Here is a form of acne that affects babies 0 to 3 months old. Skip this period, we will instead use the term infantile acne. The infant's face is then covered with small pimples, both comedones and irritations typical of acne. This acne lasts a few weeks at most and can, in rare cases, extend over several months. She is disappearing as quickly as she appeared. The latter does not bother the infant and does not prevent its normal development. A baby who has acne is not more likely to have it as a teenager.

Adult acne

Conversely, it often has a major impact on the quality of life and alters professional, friendly or intimate relationships. A possible cause must be sought, then a treatment suitable for adult acne must be started. In all cases, acne treatments vary in effectiveness from one person to another, from one period to another. Avoid comparing yourself to the classmate or the next door neighbor!
