The Allergan laboratory was born in 1948, following the association of a pharmacist and a chemist friend. In Los Angeles, they created anti-allergic nose drops together, before reformulating this product in order to design eye drops for the treatment of allergic conjunctivitis. This is how the first antihistamine eye drops made in the United States was born. Since then, the brand has grown and collaborates with patients and healthcare professionals alike to offer innovative and useful products.
Improve the quality of life of patients
Allergan owes its success to the commitment of many employees, with whom it works and develops bold ideas to improve the quality of life of patients around the world.
Indeed, many of the products offered by the brand have been designed to treat diseases that affect everyone's quality of life.
Thus, the brand places this objective of offering better care to people at the center of its activity.

Allergan France, founded in 1978, markets various therapeutic products, particularly with regard to ophthalmology.

Allergan non-prescription drugs

The Allergan laboratory offers two eye drops and an ophthalmic ointment, intended to relieve the signs of irritation caused by dry eye, a disease affecting millions of people each year.
It is indeed a frequent pathology of the eye, which particularly affects the elderly, although it can appear at any age, especially in women.
It is characterized by various unpleasant symptoms, such as irritation, burning sensation, feeling of sand in the eyes, inflammation of the eye...
Dry eye is caused by not enough tears being produced to keep the surface of the eyes moist.

It is for this reason that the Allergan laboratory is implementing treatments to relieve these unpleasant symptoms, using eye drops and eye ointment.

Celluvisc eye drops and Refresh eye drops are available in single-dose format, offering great practicality of use. However, the single dose must be discarded after use, because the absence of preservative in their formulas exposes the product to microbial contamination.
Refresh eye drops contain povidone, which acts as a lubricant when used ophthalmically. It is associated with polyvinyl alcohol, which acts by a mechanical effect as a lubricant and moisturizer. This combination is used in the context of lacrimal insufficiency.
Celluvisc eye drops, on the other hand, contain carmellose. The latter, like polyvinyl alcohol, acts by a mechanical effect for optimal hydration and lubrication of the eye in the event of insufficient tears.

Vitamin A eye ointment is also indicated in cases of severe dry eye, but can also be used as a complementary treatment in corneal healing disorders.
