Here are a few tips for using Elastoplast 8 or 10 cm adhesive elastic bands to support the joints of the lower limbs (thigh, knee, calf and ankle) in the event of joint disorders:

  • Skin preparation: Make sure the area to be bandaged is clean, dry and free of creams and oils. This will ensure better adhesion of the tape to the skin.
  • Cutting the tape: Cut the Elastoplast tape to the desired length to cover and support the joint. Leave enough tape for proper attachment to the skin.
  • Thigh: To support the thigh, start by wrapping the bandage around the upper part of the thigh, maintaining light tension. Then wrap the band diagonally down the thigh, leaving a space between each turn. Make sure the band adheres to the skin for optimum support.
  • Knee: To support the knee, bend the leg slightly and start wrapping the band under the knee. Then pass the band over the knee in an "X" shape, maintaining moderate tension to ensure comfortable support. Continue the application by wrapping the upper part of the calf, taking care not to overtighten.
  • Calf: To support the calf, wrap the band around the lower part of the leg, just above the ankle. Then gradually work your way diagonally up the calf, maintaining gentle tension. Make sure the bandage adheres well to the skin, and adjust the tension as required.
  • Ankle: To support the ankle, start by wrapping the bandage around the top of the foot, leaving the toes free. Then wrap the band around the ankle in an "8" shape for optimum support. Maintain moderate tension to ensure comfortable support and freedom of movement.
  • Fixing the bandage: Make sure the adhesive bandage is securely attached to the skin, and check regularly to make sure it stays in place. If the tape comes off, or if you feel any discomfort, readjust it according to your needs.

Treating traumatic, joint, tendon and arthritic pain

Trauma, joint, tendon and arthritic pain (contusion, blow, shock, stretch, sprain, tendinitis, dislocation, arthritis) is treated in 3 steps:

  1. Cryotherapy 3 times a day with Immediate Cold Sprayor Micro-Ball Cold Pack (apply for 15 to 20 minutes)
