CRYSTAL glycerin suppositories adult box 10 is a drug indicated for the symptomatic treatment of constipation low, including rectal dyschezia. Indicated also in preparation for endoscopic examination of the rectum.
Constipation is due to a disorder located in the digestive system, its manifestations are directly visible. Constipation Most Often Accompanied
The stools are harder and less abundant and their expulsion is incomplete. In some cases, constipation may be accompanied by the emission of watery stools called "false diarrhea".
In all cases, if the symptoms observed persist beyond six months, then it is a case of chronic and no longer occasional constipation, which leads to a change in treatment and management.
Glycerin suppositories cause rapid evacuation of the rectosigmoid by triggering the defecation reflex. This occurs within 5 to 30 minutes after taking.
Glycerin (in the form of suppositories for adults) stimulates peristaltic movements and reduces water absorption thanks to its osmotic and hygroscopic power . It also has a slight local irritant power which participates in refecal defecation .

Hypersensitivity to any of the components. Prolonged use of CRISTAL glycerin suppositories may give rise to anal burning sensations, and exceptionally congestive proctitis.

2. WHAT DO I NEED TO KNOW BEFORE USING CRISTAL ADULT, suppository?

For adults only.
Never use CRISTAL ADULT suppositories in the following cases:
- Allergy (hypersensitivity) to glycerol or to any of the other ingredients listed under "Additional information".
Precautions for use; special warnings
Be careful with CRISTAL ADULT, suppository:
- If you have a bowel disease called ulcerative colitis;
- if you suffer from anal fissures or haemorrhoids.
In these situations, it is preferable to avoid using this medication.
Taking or using other medicines:
Please tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines, even those obtained without a prescription.

3. HOW TO USE CRISTAL ADULT, suppository?

Rectal route. The suppository should be inserted into the anus.
If necessary, the suppository can be soaked in cold water to facilitate introduction.
The usual dose is 1 suppository 5 to 30 minutes before your bowel movement, to be repeated 1 more time in the next half-hour or hour if you are still constipated.
On average, constipation treatment should not exceed 10 days.
Do not use this product for prolonged periods without consulting your doctor.
Symptoms and instructions in case of overdose
If you have used more CRISTAL ADULTS suppository than you should have :
You may experience diarrhea. In this case, reduce the dose or stop treatment and consult your doctor or pharmacist immediately.
Instructions in case of missed dose(s)
If you forget to use CRISTAL ADULTS, suppository:
Do not use a double dose to make up for the single dose you forgot to take.

4. WHAT ARE THE POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS?
Like all medicines, CRISTAL ADULTS suppository is likely to have undesirable effects, although not everyone is subject to them:
- Sensation of anal burning;
- Exceptional cases of congestive rectitis (inflammation of the rectum).

5. HOW TO USE CRISTAL ADULT, suppository?
Keep out of sight and reach of children.
Do not use after the expiration date shown on the packaging.
Store at temperatures not exceeding 25°C.

Occasional constipation:
May be related to a recent change in lifestyle (travel). The drug can be used as a short-term treatment. Any recent constipation unexplained by a change in lifestyle, or any constipation accompanied by pain, fever or swelling of the abdomen, should be referred to a doctor.
Chronic constipation (long-term constipation):
There are two possible causes:
- or bowel disease, which requires medical attention,
- or an imbalance in intestinal function due to dietary and lifestyle habits.
Treatment includes:
- increasing dietary intake of plant-based products (green vegetables, raw vegetables, wholemeal bread, fruit....),
- increased consumption of water and fruit juices,
- increased physical activity (sports, walking, etc.),
- reeducation of the defecation reflex,
- sometimes, the addition of bran to food.
