Description of Meteospasmyl 20 capsules for digestive pain

Meteospasmyl relieves digestive pain and bloating in adults.

The term "bloating" generally refers to the presence of gas or flatulence in the digestive tract. In the majority of people, digestive discomfort is caused by poor digestion of food and stems from poor lifestyle habits and poor diet.
More than 5 liters of gas are produced every day in the normal intestine.
When normal digestive function is interrupted or impaired, changes in chemical reactions or the balance of flora in the midgut, result in increased quantities of gas being produced.

Your pharmacist's advice on digestive pain

How to relieve digestive pain with bloating

Bloating is caused by an accumulation of gas in the intestine. The stomach then appears bloated. There are many possible causes of this intestinal discomfort.

Bloating can be treated in a variety of ways:

  • digestive dressings containing kaolin or silicone derivatives with an anti-foaming effect that reduces gas formation;
  • activated charcoal, which absorbs intestinal gases;
  • antispasmodic digestive drugs, some of which are combined with a digestive dressing or charcoal to limit the production of gas that can cause pain.

Medications such as digestive antispasmodics (Meteospasmyl) do not dispense with dietary measures to prevent the production of intestinal gas. They should not be used for prolonged periods without medical advice.
