What are Baush & Lomb Hemostatic Sponges used for?
Bloxang is intended for local hemostatic treatment, to stop mild to moderate nosebleeds and to treat superficial wounds.
- Mild to moderate nosebleeds: They can be inserted into the nostrils to stop bleeding caused by irritation, minor trauma or other nasal conditions.
- Superficial wounds: They can be applied directly to the wound to control bleeding and promote healing.
Bloxang must be removed from its packaging under conditions that preserve its sterility. We recommend moistening Bloxang® when the wound is dry, and applying it dry to a moist wound. On the skin for small wounds Apply Bloxang® either dry or moistened. Bloxang can be cut to size and shape using sterilized scissors, and secured with a dressing. For nosebleeds A Bloxang® stick should be inserted into the affected nostril. The stick can be slightly shaped for better insertion.
To achieve a hemostatic effect, Bloxang® should be left in place until the bleeding has stopped. When Bloxang® comes into contact with an oozing wound, it forms a gel which protects the wound and enables the dressing to be renewed painlessly, while respecting the epithelium (surface layer of the skin). If nosebleeds persist after using a second Bloxang® stick, consult a doctor.
Bloxang® hemostatic sponges are specially designed to work quickly and effectively to stop bleeding. Their unique composition enables rapid absorption of blood, promoting coagulation and reducing the time needed to stop bleeding. This hemostatic efficiency helps minimize the risk of anemia and infection associated with prolonged bleeding.
Thanks to their practical format and soft texture, Bloxang sponges are easy to handle and apply. Whether at home or in a medical setting, their ergonomic design makes them easy to use, even in emergency situations. The easy handling of these sponges makes them an ideal choice for healthcare professionals as well as for home use.
Baush & Lomb haemostatic sponges are manufactured to strict quality standards, guaranteeing their safety and efficacy. Their composition is carefully selected to minimize the risk of skin irritation or other undesirable effects. What's more, these sponges are well tolerated by the skin, making them suitable for use on a variety of patients, including those with sensitive skin or prone to allergic reactions.
