Advice from your expert pharmacist on dry eyes

How to relieve dry eye

Treatment symptomatic of a dry eye consists of moistening the eye by instilling artificial tears in the form of eye drops. Lubricating and wetting gels can also be applied several times a day depending on the extent of the discomfort.

Treatment for dry eyes varies depending on their cause. The use of eye drops or tear gels, artificial tears, may be of benefit. They are to be used several times a day, as needed. They contain substances which act as thickeners. Their viscosity, more or less important according to the products, determines the choice of the doctor. With the more viscous products, a visual blurring effect can be felt immediately after administration and disappears within a few minutes. Refer to the precautions for use with ophttalm gel
