Precaution for use with HEC local nosebleed treatment

This medication is contraindicated in the following cases:

The advice of your expert pharmacist

A burn is a tissue damage often caused by more or less long contact with a heat source. The burn has different degrees of severity: 1st degree (sunburn type with a bright and painful red lesion) & 2nd superficial degree (appearance of a blister).

How to assess the severity of a burn?

The   first degree burns   reach the epidermis of the skin and are manifested by redness, heat, and pain for 72 hours sometimes followed by peeling. They can cause a slight fever and disappear without sequelae in 4 to 5 days.

The   second degree burns : they are recognized by the presence of blisters on the skin, or phlyctene.

Under the blister, the skin can go from crimson red (because it remains vascularized) if the burn is superficial. In this case, the burn heals spontaneously between 1 week and 10 days. If the skin has turned white, surgery is needed to treat the burn.

Third degree burns: Burns appear as hard, painless plaques because all nerve endings have been destroyed.

Any unhealed burn beyond the 21st day should be managed surgically.

How to treat bleeding from the nose with HEC nasal ointment?

In rhinology (nose bleed), it is necessary to treat the bleeding of the nose using nasal wicks   impregnated with   HEC ointment .

  • Do not tilt your head back for the duration of the   bleeding , to avoid swallowing or inhaling blood.
  • Do not take aspirin which could increase the   bleeding .
  • Do not blow your nose within 2 to 3 hours of   bleeding .
