Superficial wounds
A superficial wound is defined as a simple abrasion of the skin, an abrasion, a slight cut or a scratch. A superficial wound is one that has not been caused by a blunt object, and is not too extensive: the affected area is less than the size of the palm of an adult's hand. You'll have no trouble containing the blood and treating the wound. Never forget, however, that even a superficial wound can lead to infection.

Description of MERCRYL SPRAY SOLUTION EXTERNE 50ML

Laboratoires Chemineau 'sMercryl is an antiseptic in the form of a local solution for cutaneous application in a spray bottle. Its formula is perfectly suited to disinfecting small superficial wounds (scratches, scrapes, small cuts, bites...) for the whole family. The benefits of Mercryl Spray Antiseptique :

  • Can be used on young children. However, there is a risk of the active ingredient passing into the general circulation if used on the skin of premature babies or infants.

Directions for use and advice on MERCRYL SPRAY SOLUTION EXTERNE 50ML

Mercryl Spray Antiseptique is used 1 or 2 times a day, for 7 to 10 days. Application should last at least one minute, to allow the medication to take effect.

  • Clean the area beforehand, gently removing any small stones, dust, etc., if necessary. Rinse thoroughly.
  • Do not swallow. For external use only.

Pregnancy and breast-feeding: Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice.

This medicine contains contraindications, side effects and requires precautions for use. Read instructions carefully before use.

Pressurized container: protect from sunlight and do not expose to temperatures exceeding +50°C. Do not pierce or burn, even after use.

Composition of MERCRYL SPRAY SOLUTION EXTERNE 50ML

Benzalkonium chloride 0.500 g As benzalkonium chloride solution 0.985 g, Chlorhexidine digluconate 0.200 g As chlorhexidine digluconate solution 1.065 g, For 100 ml. Other components are citric acid monohydrate, sodium citrate, purified water. Pulse gas: nitrogen.

· To disinfect medical and surgical equipment.

Warnings and Precautions

This medicinal product is for external use only.

When used on a large area, under occlusive dressing (impermeable to water and air), on a deeply burned skin, a skin of premature or infant, there are risks of passage in the general circulation .

Use with caution in newborns, especially premature infants. MERCRYL SPRAY, may cause skin burns.

Interaction with other medicines

· MERCRYL SPRAY should not be used together with other antiseptics because together they may irritate your skin or be less effective.

· If using soap, rinse thoroughly before applying MERCRYL SPRAY.

Possibility of contact dermatitis (redness and itching) due to the presence of chloride debenzalkonium.

Chemical burns in newborns (unknown frequency).

CONTRAINDICATIONS (summary)
This medication should not be used in the following cases:
  • allergy to quaternary ammoniums ,

WARNING (Contents)
Avoid prolonged use of this medication, especially in children, on extensive or deeply injured surfaces, without the advice of your doctor: risk of drug passage through the blood.
This antiseptic is not suitable for the disinfection of scissors, razors and other potentially contaminating objects. Similarly, it should not be used to disinfect the skin before a sting.
