Our orthopaedic pharmacist's advice

Treating traumatic, joint, tendon and arthritic pain

Trauma, joint, tendon and arthritic pain (contusion, blow, shock, stretch, sprain, tendinitis, dislocation, arthritis) is treated in 3 stages:

These pathologies are characterized by pain, edema, swelling, hematoma and inflammation.

Cold therapy, applied as soon as possible after trauma, has a vasoconstrictive effect that inhibits pain (analgesic), reduces effusion (anti-inflammatory), decreases swelling (anti-oedematous), and reduces bleeding (anti-hemorrhagic).

Combating muscular pain, osteoarthritis

Treatment of muscular pain, osteoarthritis (backache, lumbago, osteoarthritis, contractures, muscle soreness) is a 3-step process:

1/ Apply heat with neuriplege activ. heating patches or Thera-pearl heat pack (apply for 15 to 20 minutes).

2/ Relieve pain and promote relaxation and recovery with Therm-cool pain-relieving gel, applied by massaging lightly without penetrating.

3/ Support with a lumbar belt, neck brace or cervical collar.

These diseases can be identified by the presence of pain-stiffness and mobility problems.

Heat therapy improves mobility, reduces the pain message (analgesic), promotes muscle relaxation and reduces contractures and aches.

Find out more about sports injuries

3 types of injury are fairly common among long-distance athletes. Sprains, tendonitis and fractures... In these 3 cases, the causes may be multiple, but the solutions for better recovery and pain relief are almost similar. The aim is to optimize healing. Relief can be provided externally with essential oils and massage creams, and internally through diet!

  • The first thing to do in the presence of inflammation is to rest the affected area, at least in the case of a local inflammatory reaction.
  • As far as diet is concerned, you should turn to foods rich in zinc and silicon, which are very present in cereals.
  • Finally, a diet richer in protein will help the healing process.

Please note that medication is not like any other product. Read the instructions carefully before ordering. Keep medicines out of the reach of children. If symptoms persist, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice. Beware of incompatibilities with your current products.
