Warts are small viral growths that generally disappear on their own after 2 years. Read our blog for tips on how to prevent warts and speed up their healing.

M.O. COCHON Ointment Warts Corns 10G

A callus is a thickening of the surface layer of the skin, the epidermis. In most cases, the callus is located on the sole of the foot, sometimes on the palm of the hand. A benign condition, a callus can nevertheless cause real discomfort when walking, and can even become infected and require surgery.

Warts are highly contagious, and are more common in people with weakened immune systems. Warts are transmitted from one person to another, or from one part of the same person's body to another, by direct contact with the infected area. Over 50% of warts disappear spontaneously within two years. However, they are unsightly and can be painful in the case of plantar warts. That's why patients often choose to treat these warts rather than wait for them to disappear on their own.

What causes corns and calluses?

The main cause of corns and calluses is repeated rubbing of the skin on the shoe, but deformities of the foot can also lead to the appearance of corns. In fact, an unbalanced foot or an angular forefoot leads to friction that encourages corns.

Friction and/or excessive pressure on the bones of the foot thicken the corns by stimulating the production of the epidermis' main protein, keratin.

In addition to the pain andthickening of the skin caused by corns and calluses, they can also lead to claudication, load-shifting responsible for bone and joint disorders, and suppuration linked to infection of the serous bursa located under the corns or under the area of friction.

Skin reaction (itching, pimples, swelling) or general discomfort occurring after contact with a particular substance, use of a medication, or ingestion of food. The main forms of allergy are eczema, urticaria, asthma, angioedema and allergic shock (anaphylactic shock). Food allergy can also result in digestive disorders.

arteritis
Arterial disease favored by smoking and most often localized to the legs. It is characterized by a thickening of the arterial walls which interferes with blood circulation and causes pain during walking (intermittent claudication). Lower limb arteritis increases the risk of myocardial infarction and requires medication. At an advanced stage, it can be treated surgically.
Synonym: Occlusive arteriopathy of the lower limbs.

It results in increased sugar (glucose) in the blood and its possible presence in the urine. There are two types of diabetes mellitus: Type 1 or insulin-dependent diabetes, which requires insulin injections, and type 2 or non-insulin dependent diabetes, which can initially be treated with oral antidiabetics.
