Tegaderm Square Superabsorber Dressing 20x20cm is designed for the treatment of heavily to very heavily exuding wounds, budding wounds or wounds in the epidermization phase.
This Tegaderm dressing is sterile and highly absorbent . Its thin thickness includes a base of infinitely absorbent polymers (sodium polyacrylate) combined with cellulose. Thus it has characteristics of absorption and conservation of optimal exudates , even under compression. Even after a considerable assimilation of exudates, the part of the dressing in contact with the wound remains slightly moist, which avoids maceration.
This dressing consists of two distinct sides.
Its white non-woven internal face is very soft and respects the periwound skin . The gelling particles of sodium polyacrylate have a high capacity for absorption and retention even under compression, absence of release.
Its semi-permeable green outer face limits the risk of leaks and allows the skin to breathe .
Used as a primary dressing, it facilitates the healing in a moist environment of highly exuding acute and chronic wounds such as: superficial burns , dermabrasions, graft donor sites, pressure sores, wounds with loss of substance , venous ulcers, arterial ulcers or diabetic ulcers.
As a secondary dressing, it is appreciated to protect cavitary wounds.

Exudate: how to treat an exuding wound?
Depending on the cause, the treatment may vary but first, on the wound directly, you can rinse and clean thoroughly with tap water or with saline solution to remove all traces of soap. Dry the wound by dabbing gently with a sterile compress then apply an antiseptic solution either as a spray or using a sterile compress to disinfect.
The amount of exudate is a significant factor to consider in the healing process of a wound. It partly depends on the surface concerned.
Management of exudate mainly involves the choice of dressing, which remains the main management option because it will protect the wound. Today there are various absorbent dressings capable of regulating the supply of moisture by capturing and maintaining the excess exudate which is not conducive to the proper development of the wound.
Choice of dressing on exuding wounds
Depending on the condition of the skin and the location of the wound, the choice of dressing will go either to an adhesive or non-adhesive version:
