DUOFILM 15ML STIEFEL WART TREATMENT is recommended for the treatment of plantar warts, common hand warts and "mosaic warts".

A wart is a skin growth of varying size, often benign, caused by the human papilloma virus (HPV). They can be located in different parts of the body.

Description of DUOFILM 15ML STIEFEL WART TREATMENT

DUOFILM 15ML STIEFEL WART TREATMENT is recommended for the treatment of plantar warts, common hand warts and"mosaic warts".

  • A plantar wart is a skin lesion caused by a viral infection. It can remain latent for years, or grow and spread rapidly. It's a skin problem that's also contagious for you and those around you. These lesions are caused by the HPV or human papillomavirus. However, even though it's a benign virus, it's advisable to act quickly to get rid of it.
  • A vulgar wart takes the form of a hard, rough, flesh-colored or grayish dome. They usually appear on their own. They can form on the knees, elbows and feet (toes), but more often on the hands and fingers. Rarely painful (except when located near or under the nails), they can nevertheless be a nuisance.
  • Mosaic war ts appear as a rough area dotted with small black dots on the bottom of the foot. The victim may mistake mosaic warts for calluses, but they are in fact clusters of plantar warts, which can be painful when walking. They can be treated with various medications.

Advice on warts from your pharmacy

Warts are benign outgrowths of the epidermis covered with a horny layer that gives them a rough texture. They are caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV). There are different types of warts, but the most common are common warts and plantar warts.

  • Common warts can be recognized by their rough texture and cauliflower-like appearance. They appear most often on the hands and feet.
  • Plantar warts are identical to common warts, but develop only on the sole of the foot. They interrupt the footprint pattern, as the skin lines are not drawn on the surface of the warts. Plantar warts are generally softer, flatter and painful due to the pressure exerted when walking.

Warts affect 7-10% of the population. They particularly affect children and adolescents. Warts are highly contagious, and are more common in people with weakened immune systems. Warts are transmitted from one person to another, or from one part of the same person's body to another, by direct contact with the infected area. Over 50% of warts disappear spontaneously within two years. However, they are unsightly and can be painful in the case of plantar warts. That's why patients often choose to treat these warts rather than wait for them to disappear on their own.

allergy
Skin reaction (itching, pimples, swelling) or general discomfort occurring after contact with a particular substance, use of a medication, or ingestion of food. The main forms of allergy are eczema, urticaria, asthma, angioedema and allergic shock (anaphylactic shock). Food allergy can also result in digestive disorders.

arteritis
Arterial disease favored by smoking and most often localized to the legs. It is characterized by a thickening of the arterial walls which interferes with blood circulation and causes pain during walking (intermittent claudication). Lower limb arteritis increases the risk of myocardial infarction and requires medication. At an advanced stage, it can be treated surgically.
Synonym: Occlusive arteriopathy of the lower limbs.

diabetes
A general term for diseases that result in the emission of abundant urine and intense thirst. The word diabetes, used alone, is generally related to diabetes mellitus, which corresponds to a disruption in the regulation of the body's sugars by insulin. It results in increased sugar (glucose) in the blood and its possible presence in the urine. There are two types of diabetes mellitus: Type 1 or insulin-dependent diabetes, which requires insulin injections, and type 2 or non-insulin dependent diabetes, which can initially be treated with oral antidiabetics.

salicylates
A family of drugs, the best known of which is acetylsalicylic acid (aspirin).
