What is Weleda Calendula Massage Oil used for?
Calendula has many therapeutic properties, and its external use in phytotherapy is increasingly replacing internal use.
Calendula is traditionally used externally:
- in cosmetics, calendula is particularly appreciated for treating skin problems: irritation, redness, inflammation of the skin (psoriasis, eczema, acne, etc.), itching, cradle cap in infants, cracks appearing during breast-feeding ....
- in dermatology, for external lesions, calendula not only soothes wounds, sunburns and minor burns, but also heals them. It also naturally regenerates the skin.
Weleda Calendula Massage Oil 100ml soothing, nourishing for sensitive skin. Weleda Calendula Massage Oil is specially formulated for sensitive and fragile skin. It contains extracts of calendula and chamomile, medicinal plants renowned for their soothing and calming properties. Sesame oil, light and nourishing, contains essential fatty acids and preserves the balance of the hydrolipidic film.
Calendula and chamomile extracts in Weleda Calendula Massage Oil work in synergy to provide immediate relief for irritated and reddened skin. Thanks to its anti-inflammatory and healing properties, calendula soothes feelings of discomfort and reduces skin redness. Similarly, chamomile, renowned for its soothing properties, calms irritation and itching, providing a feeling of comfort and well-being as soon as it is applied.
Sesame oil, the main ingredient in this formula, is naturally rich in essential fatty acids, such as linoleic and oleic acids. These lipid compounds enable sesame oil to penetrate deep into the skin, ensuring optimal hydration and intense nutrition. Thanks to its emollient properties, sesame oil leaves skin soft, supple and perfectly nourished, promoting elasticity and comfort on a daily basis.
The light formula of sesame oil used in Weleda Calendula Massage Oil respects the skin's natural balance, preserving its hydrolipidic film. This film, made up of water and lipids, plays a crucial role in protecting the skin against external aggressors such as dehydration and irritation. By maintaining the integrity of this protective film, Weleda Calendula Massage Oil helps reinforce the cutaneous barrier, preserving the skin's health and vitality.
In addition to its soothing and nourishing properties, Weleda Calendula Massage Oil is distinguished by its versatility. Suitable for different types of massage, this oil can be used to soothe muscular tension and promote relaxation. Thanks to its light texture and rapid absorption, it's easy to apply and leaves the skin soft, with no greasy residue. Whether for a relaxing massage after a busy day, or to relieve tired muscles after a workout, this versatile oil offers a unique sensory experience, providing relaxation and well-being at any time of day.

How to use this massage oil
To facilitate its penetration into the skin, it's a good idea to apply it in small quantities after a shower or bath, on skin that's still slightly damp (after dabbing with a terry towel). Apply only as much oil as your skin can absorb. Just a few drops in the palm of one hand are enough: rub both palms together and spread over the skin, massaging to penetrate.Applied in this way, the oil leaves only a very thin protective film on the skin, which it smoothes and silkens, without any "greasy" effect. For the skin of babies and very young children, use Calendula Baby Protective Oil.
